Aberrant particles stayed dormant in the nether, waiting for the call of the Great One and driving the world into madness; one day, scientists opened a gate … Following a New Weird style, Once Human combines the rationality in science with the mysteries of the unknown. In a precarious world where all common sense is distorted, will humanity fall into the abyss or thrive on adversity?
To survive in the wasteland, humans must unite in groups. With coldblooded research nuts, honest yet simple civilians, violent lunatics, optimistic dreamers and lone wolves, factions are formed. Among these factions, five attract the most attention: Rosetta, Blackfell, Vulture, Guerilla, and Mayfly.
Plant, animal and human infected by Stardust will transform into disfigured monsters called Aberrant. Once polluted by Stardust, the host will be swept along to join the evolution route of Stardust while the winner becomes an advanced organism and the failed ones decay to dust. In early state, Aberrants may not be too aggressive, but as time goes, they will be driven wholly by the desire to evolve and show their cruel nature.
With multiple weapon choices from handgun to submachine gun, players may excel in hardcore battles with their most handy firearm. What's more, your favorite gun actually grows with you! Use gun perk to make a killing machine out of your weapon. Use lethal weapons and unleash destructive skills to fight your way out. Battles can take place almost anywhere in Nalcott. With Aberrant, Rosetta and Vultures rampaging about, you are never short of enemies.
In the Stronghold Contest, Defender and Attacker battle to take control of the Beacon Area in the middle stronghold, and capture progress will accumulate when the area is free of the opposite team. Whoever seizes the area is the winner.
Various landscapes, realistic weather changes, and distinctive features. From desert to forest, Once Human offers a glimpse of the world taken over by nature and otherworldly creatures.
Starry Studio today announced that its free-to-play strange worlds survival title Once Human will launch its fifth season, Dissonant Resonance, globally on November 19. The new season plunges players into a bizarre new sound-driven apocalypse, pitting them against a colossal pipe-organ machine god. The reveal comes alongside a limited-time Nailoong crossover event live in-game today.
In Dissonant Resonance, sound itself becomes a weapon - and a threat. The new season transforms the post-apocalyptic strange wilderness into an acoustic nightmare where every bullet strikes a note, every kill fuels an emotion, and the heavens are listening. Inspired by the sacred, haunting grandeur of cathedral pipe organs, a gargantuan entity now commands the horizon, turning every firefight below into part of a dark, world-spanning symphony.
The Sky is Watching: The Living-Machine Colossus
Looming permanently in the skybox, this pipe-organ leviathan is no static backdrop—it is a living, judging presence. The colossus watches the world below, dynamically altering the atmosphere and its expressions and movements in response to the move players make. It is always listening, but it won't stay in the heavens forever...
Shoot the Mood, Hit the Groove: Emotion Zones & Rhythmic Gunplay
Anomaly Zones steeped in Joy, Rage, Sorrow, and Fear now warp the wilderness. In these erratic regions, a survivor's arsenal becomes an instrument. Defeating monsters scatters musical notes across the battlefield. By shooting these notes, players not only trigger pitch-tuned audio to improvise their own battle rhythms, but also collect them to purify dissonant, corrupted scores. Once these notes are rearranged into harmonious melodies, the scores grant survivors powerful acoustic buffs. What happens when a squad composes the perfect apocalyptic score? The melody just might tear open a rift to something far more dangerous.
Face the Music: Co-Op Colossus Raids
For those brave enough to step through the rift, a high-stakes, 4-player showdown against the descended colossus awaits. But this is no traditional raid. Taking center stage, the titan becomes a maestro of destruction, dynamically shifting the battlefield's music. As the boss and the arena pulse to a new combat score, squads must adapt on the fly. Whether sprinting to silence glowing [Resonating Pipes] in a ruined cathedral, or piloting aerial vehicles to dart through floating [Resonating Cavities] in the stormy skies above, players must disrupt the melody before the deadly track concludes. Players aren't just surviving a boss fight—they are conducting it.
New "Silent Statue" Elemental Deviant
Expanding tactical buildcraft on November 19 is a new combat Deviant that awakens in the heat of battle. Appearing initially as a shattered, gray monument, it silently absorbs the elemental chaos of your firefights. For those who can unlock its true potential, the ruins will mend and spread brilliant golden wings—bestowing a massive elemental blessing across the squad.
Lighthearted Chaos:The Nailoong Crossover
Once Human also launches a limited-time crossover event today with the viral animated IP Nailoong, bringing a dose of lighthearted chaos to the world of Nalcott. Starting today, survivors can log in to claim the fun Nailoong Disco Light, use daily chat commands to unlock transformation items and dance emotes, join group dance party and tummy battle on the event island, or invite friends to earn the exclusive avatar, namecard, and Deviant skin.
Join the lighthearted Nailoong crossover today in Once Human and stay tuned as the apocalypse finds its rhythm with the global launch of Season 5: Dissonant Resonance on November 19.
