Revealed in 2023, picked up by Amazon Games in 2024 but dropped in 2025 (as part of it's restructuring), Maverick Games will be announcing their new open-world action-driving tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2 at 11am London BST / 6am EST / 3am PST
Throughout the past week, they’ve hosted a special countdown livestream in the lead up to the live reveal where they’ve been dropping hints and sneak peeks at the game.
On May 22, the Maverick Games YouTube channel began airing a livestream that for all intents and purposes looked to be security camera footage from the staff carpark–aimed directly at a 2003 FIAT Multipla
Day -1 – May 20
• The official Maverick Games Discord channel opens following an announcement on Episode 16 of the Maverick Games Podcast
• Mike Brown joins the channel and “unintentionally” leaks the second-ever screenshot from the studio’s unannounced title

Day 1 – May 22
• Shortly after 5pm BST, a Livestream titled ‘Multipla yer Live Reveal’ begins airing from the Maverick Games car park with two shots: one looking directly at a FIAT Multipla, and one from inside the dank, disheveled interior with a countdown clock prominently featured, counting down to 11am BST, June 2
• Various members of the Dev Team are seen driving past in the background of the shot, including Mike Brown (Creative Director) and Harinder Sangha (COO)
Day 4 – May 25
• Following a hot spring weekend, the Multipla is given a professional valet, clearing most of the mould and grime from the interior and exterior of the car
• A ‘R1K RIVIERA’ air freshener is added to the interior of the Multipla
• Mike Brown is seen holding up what appears to be a printed and obscured screenshot depicting a mountain road, leading those in the Discord to speculate on the location
Day 5 – May 26
• Another printed screenshot is shown to the camera by Mike, depicting a Porsche heading into a tunnel
• The ‘Trailer’ is revealed, showing a vehicle trailer that the Multipla is soon to be moved onto
• The Multipla is seen being towed around the perimeter of the Maverick Games studio, before viewers witnessed the chaos of it getting squeezed inside the studio itself, narrowly avoiding furniture and equipment
• The exterior camera is re-positioned, giving an alternative view of the Multipla from inside the Maverick Games studio
• The seats of the Multipla are seen being repositioned, with he front seats turned around to face the rears
Day 6 – May 27
• Content Creators are brought into the Maverick Games studio and are seen playing a videogame in the background of the stream
• Various members of the Maverick Games team are seen looking at more printed screenshots that are quickly taken out of shot, before Mike shows another screenshot to the camera from his phone
• Content Creators depart the Maverick Games studio, following their opportunity to ‘sign’ the Multipla in permanent marker
Day 7 – May 28
• Podcast equipment is installed inside the Multipla, including several microphones and an additional camera mount
• James Bralant (Senior Community Manager) is seen climbing into the Multipla with a screenshot taped to his back, before it’s quickly removed by Tom Butcher (Executive Producer)
Day 8 – May 29
• Episode 17 of the Maverick Games Podcast is shot from inside the Multipla, with those watching the livestream able to view a live and unedited version, ahead of the episode set to be uploaded later that day
• Throughout the recording, Mike, Chris Davies (Lead Games Designer), and James are seen poring over screenshots and other paraphernalia that appear to be from the game, with some held up to an alternate shot of the stream
• An after-market exhaust and custom number plates (M4V RIK) are installed to the FIAT Multipla
• Episode 17 of the Maverick Games Podcast is uploaded to the Maverick Games YouTube channel, where the hosts talk about how they would theoretically announce a videogame
Day 9 & 10 – May 29/30
• Cryptic clues (including fruit, the word ‘exhults’, and shots taken from a Polaroid camera) are shared on-stream and to the Maverick Games Discord channel for those in the channel to try and decipher
• The Discord channel reaches the 1,000 member mark
Now, on the eve of the countdown clock ending, the gaming world awaits for what will happen when it reaches zero.
Maverick Games was founded in 2022 by core development team members behind critically acclaimed open-world racing game Forza Horizon. The collaboration with UK-based Maverick Games also comes as Amazon Games is expanding its footprint in Europe, having just announced a new development studio in Bucharest.
Jamie Brittain, co-creator of the BAFTA award-winning British TV show Skins, is the lead writer on the game, working alongside Maverick Games' core leadership team, including executive producer Tom Butcher (Forza Horizon series, F1 All-Stars), CTO Matt Craven (Forza Horizon series, GRID, DIRT), content director Gareth Harwood (Forza Horizon series, Fable reboot), audio director Fraser Strachan (Forza Horizon series), art director Ben Penrose (Forza Horizon Series, Fable reboot) and Visual Design Director Elly Marshall (Forza Horizon 3, Just Cause 3, DIRT).
The new game will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
