NVIDIA Partners With SEGA To Bring 'Virtua Fighter Crossroads' And Future Titles To RTX Spark

by Rainier on July 15, 2026 @ 7:00 a.m. PDT

Virtua Fighter Crossroads breaks from traditional competitive fighting games by delivering a narrative-driven action/adventure where story and combat seamlessly intertwine.

A city you’ve never seen. A story you’ve never heard.

Centered on the theme of "crossroads,” players will experience a high-stakes omnibus narrative through the eyes of four different protagonists, each driven by their own convictions and burdened by their pasts. Along the way, they will be able to explore a living, breathing city filled with activities and choice encounters. Choices made in and out of battle forge alliances, determine consequences, and shape destinies.

Throughout the story, players will experience a variety of intense combat situations, complete with multi-opponent brawls and boss encounters. This distinct mode will live alongside a robust Versus mode experience, featuring a full suite of local and online options. The control scheme also carries forward the streamlined and intuitive design Virtua Fighter is known for, enhancing both tactical depth and visual realism, all while elevating the signature mind games to a whole new level.

"The use of firearms in this city will be punished by death."

In the year 20XX, the Arma Carta ended an era of bloodshed in Vilasapara, allowing the crime syndicates operating there to establish a tenuous balance. Until now.

President Bato has made Vilasapara a key part of his reelection campaign, as he positions the city's "Vila Fight Fest" as the solution to the country's economic woes. He seeks to bring the underground fighting tournament to the world stage as a national sport. His plans are probably unrelated to the recent series of attacks on martial artists by a man dubbed The Bakunawa Killer, but who can truly say.

It is at this crossroads that the fates of four strangers will intersect, causing phantoms from decades past begin to stir... and changing the city of Vilasapara forever.

Known as the "City of Martial Arts," this island city is composed of multiple distinct districts, including a walled central city, entertainment districts, and resort areas. In addition to the main storyline, players can explore various side stories and quests, each featuring unique locations tied to each narrative and highlighting the connections formed with the locals. Richly brought to life by RGG Studio, Vilasapara serves as a melting pot of hidden agendas that shapes the world of this story.

NVIDIA and SEGA are celebrating more than three decades of collaboration by bringing Virtua Fighter Crossroads and future SEGA titles to NVIDIA RTX Spark — a new superchip for slim Windows laptops and compact desktop PCs.

This builds on the companies’ long-standing relationship, which began 30 years ago when NVIDIA worked with SEGA on burgeoning graphics technology for arcade systems and gaming consoles — with the NVIDIA NV1 chip powering the first Virtua Fighter title on PC, among the world’s first 3D fighting games.

SEGA will support RTX Spark, giving gamers new ways to experience SEGA’s iconic franchises, including the upcoming Virtua Fighter Crossroads.

Announced from the heart of Akihabara, a global gaming technology hub, at the original SEGA Akihabara Arcade (now GiGO Akihabara 3), Virtua Fighter Crossroads coming to RTX Spark reinforces the companies’ commitment to innovation and shows a glimpse of the future of gaming on a new era of Windows PCs designed for personal agents, AI, creating and gaming.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang joined SEGA CEO Haruki Satomi; SEGA chief operation officer Shuji Utsumi; Yu Suzuki, creator of Virtua Fighter; and former SEGA President Shoichiro Irimajiri, at the birthplace of countless arcade memories to celebrate the milestone.

They showcased how technology partnerships can evolve across generations of hardware and software, connecting the gaming industry’s heritage with its future.

The expanding NVIDIA RTX Spark ecosystem — including SEGA and other industry leaders — will offer gamers new experiences harnessing NVIDIA ray tracing, DLSS and AI technologies, while preserving and celebrating the iconic franchises they know and love.

Virtua Fighter Crossroads is scheduled for 2027.
