'Emberville' Gets October Early Access Date, Adds Matthew Mercer, Ben Starr, Jennifer English And A Dozen More Celebrities To Its Voice Cast - Trailer

by Rainier on July 16, 2026 @ 7:00 a.m. PDT

Emberville is a vibrant pixel-art RPG that invites players into a fantastical world filled with strategic challenges, deep narratives, and dynamic characters.

Emberville is an action/adventure RPG goes beyond the conventional expectations of similar “farm & fight’’ games, with a simple-yet-deep combat system, an inherited skill leveling system, and challenging boss fights, and the new gameplay trailer offers players a glimpse of what to expect.

Customization is key in Emberville. From cross-class combat skills to a full creative building area, players are encouraged to play their way. Building on the two-button combat system, Emberville offers a weapon-bound combo system in addition to class-related skills. Unlock new combos for a variety of weapons and chain different types of attacks to unleash devastating strikes on enemies. Learning skills from leveling multiple classes allows the player to tailor the active combat class for a unique playstyle.

The creative area gives players a location to place buildings, decorations, farms, crafting equipment, and more, with many items and buildings offering further customization options. To ease inventory management between tasks like farming, fishing, building, and combat, Emberville features a dynamic UI system, which adjusts the HUD seamlessly when approaching areas for each task.

Emberville will offer players an ambitious combination of game systems and mechanics that go far beyond the traditional staples of basic resource gathering and combat that “fight and farm” games are well known for. The leveling system in the game will let players not only swap between different classes, but also allow them to inherit active and passive abilities from that leveled class into a new one, which will allow for flexibility and creativity as each player can find a combination that is unique to their playstyle.

Independent developer Cygnus Cross announced that Emberville will launch into Steam Early Access on October 27, inviting players to begin rebuilding a forgotten world where every expedition into the Vitromitus shapes the future of a thriving settlement.

Accompanying today's announcement is Emberville's biggest gameplay reveal yet.

The new gameplay trailer follows the player's journey from awakening in the mysterious Vitromitus to transforming a forgotten estate into a thriving home. From dangerous expeditions and fast-paced combat to crafting, rebuilding, and discovering new companions, the trailer captures the satisfying rhythm at the heart of Emberville: venture out, return stronger, and slowly breathe life back into a world on the brink.

New cinematic narration from acclaimed actress Jane Perry ties it all together, hinting at the mystery and emotion waiting beneath the surface. At the same time, an original score by Emberville composer Greg Dombrowski, founder of Secession Studios, brings weight and emotion to the journey.

Already featuring the inimitable talents of Doug Cockle, Amelia Tyler, Alex Jordan, and Abubakar Salim, Emberville's ensemble grows even larger today with performers whose work spans some of the industry's most celebrated games. Joining the adventure are acclaimed actors Matthew Mercer, Jennifer English, Ben Starr, Nick Apostolides, Jane Perry, Elias Toufexis, Anjali Bhimani, and Briana White, as well as beloved creator LilyPichu, internationally renowned DJ Dillon Francis, and many more.
