NVIDIA Adds Path Tracing And DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction To Control Resonant, Rolls Out New GeForce Drivers, And More

by Rainier on Sept. 22, 2026 @ 6:00 a.m. PDT

This week, GeForce gamers have plenty to look forward to, with Remedy Entertainment’s Control Resonant launching Sept. 24 with path tracing and the full suite of DLSS 4.5 enhancements.

Also, the new GeForce Game Ready Driver includes optimizations and enhancements for four new, upcoming, highly anticipated games: AION 2, CONTROL Resonant, Gears of War: E-Day, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered!

Meanwhile, VCT Champs kicks off on September 24th, and the reigning 2025 Champions NRG have partnered with GeForce to upgrade their competitive PCs with GeForce RTX 5080 GPUs, giving players high frame rates and smooth, consistent performance needed to compete at the highest level.

With NVIDIA Reflex helping reduce PC latency, NRG players can train and compete on systems built for faster, more responsive gameplay. The GeForce RTX 5080 is the GPU of choice for VALORANT pro players. According to ProSettings.net, the GeForce RTX 5080 is the single most popular GPU among tracked VALORANT professionals, and GeForce RTX cards dominate the gear lists of the pro field. GeForce RTX 5080 gives competitors the ultimate edge with the ability to reach over 1,000 FPS at 1080p max settings, and PC latency stays below 3 ms using NVIDIA Reflex. Hear from NRG’s Ethan on his quest for another championship in this video.

Now, here’s a closer look at the new and upcoming RTX games:

  • Control Resonant: Remedy Entertainment’s sequel to Control brings path-traced direct and indirect illumination, reflections, outdoor shadows and more to GeForce RTX PCs and laptops. DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation will help deliver high image quality and frame rates, with RTX 5090 reaching up to 320 FPS at 4K and up to 480 FPS at 1080p. Be sure to download and install our Control Resonant GeForce Game Ready Driver from the NVIDIA website, or the NVIDIA app. If you’re away from home and your GeForce RTX PC or laptop, or simply don’t have a GeForce RTX system, you can still play Control Resonant by streaming it from the cloud across devices with an Ultimate GeForce NOW membership. And don’t forget you can also get the ultimate upgrade with the Control Resonant GeForce RTX 50 Series bundle.
  • AION 2: NC’s next-generation MMORPG launches in the West on Sept. 30 for Founder’s Pack buyers, followed by a full free-to-play launch Oct. 5. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, AION 2 introduces new movement and combat mechanics including gliding and flying, and will launch with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Multi Frame Generation on GeForce RTX GPUs.
  • Gears of War: E-Day: The Coalition’s prequel to the original Gears of War launches with DLSS Super Resolution, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and NVIDIA Reflex, alongside ray-traced Lumen global illumination and MegaLights shadows. The game also features NVIDIA RTX Mega Geometry, enabling higher-detail ray tracing of Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite geometry. Early Access begins Oct. 1, ahead of the full launch Oct. 6.
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered: CD PROJEKT RED’s free remaster arrives Sept. 29 with a reworked skill system, updated animations and combat, cross-platform mod support, meditation and an expanded photo mode. On GeForce RTX, the update adds path tracing, DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Super Resolution, faster and lower-latency Frame Generation, and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation of up to 6X on RTX 50 Series GPUs.

On the developer side, NVIDIA has introduced a variety of  updates for developers. Here’s a closer look at all the new tools:

  • NVIDIA ACE expands model and platform support. NVIDIA ACE offers ready-to-integrate AI models and tools for building knowledgeable, interactive, and conversational in-game characters. The latest updates expand the speech pipeline and inference framework, making it easier for developers to run AI in their games. Here’s some highlights:
    • NVIDIA Nemotron Speech 3.5 Streaming: A 600M-parameter Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) model that transcribes player speech using a streaming architecture designed to minimize latency while maintaining accuracy.
    • Qwen3 TTS: A 600M-parameter Text-to-Speech model that generates high-quality audio and supports custom fine-tuning.
  • NVIDIA RTX Kit’s latest SDK updates expands support for high-density geometry, neural texture workflows, lighting, and texture filtering.
  • RTX Mega Geometry SDK has been updated to 2.0, which adds support for streaming of continuous level-of-detail clusters for high-density meshes.
