EA announced today that Carolina Hurricanes center Eric Staal will be the NHL 08 cover athlete and spokesman. NHL 08 will feature an exclusive AHL license for the first time, with all 29 teams from the primary development league for the NHL fully playable in game.

Take 2's Q2 2007 Financial Result Reveals Re-Organization and Cancellations

Take 2 released its financial numbers for Q2 2007 and it wasn't a very rosy picture. Net revenue down, and net loss up, so it came as no surprise that a 100 day restructuring plan was announced. During the follow-up conference call Take 2 executives revealed that several fiscal 2007 year titles were cancelled, though did not go in specifics, and that it would try to sell off Jack of all Games and its Joytech divisions. Dispite earlier rumors, GTA IV is not getting delayed, and is still on track for its October 16 launch.
