official website with details about the upcoming Quake 4 v1.3 patch, which will generally address various multiplayer issues brought to id's attention by the community. Estimated to be released before QuakeCon, the patch will include a new multiplayer mode, new maps, and new weapon as well as new features and gameplay changes, which will provide a faster, smoother, and more highly competitive experience.

Gears of War product page has been updated to reflect a change in release date, from Q4 2006 to the more precise October 2, 2006.
EBGames also has that same date, but whether this is actually official or a misprint is not clear at this point.

job listing on the official Treyarch website, known for Spider-Man 2 and currently working on Call of Duty 3, reveals that the Activision internal development studio is working on a next-gen James Bond title.
Last month Activision announced that it had signed a deal with MGM to take over the Bond license, formerly owned by EA. Treyarch is looking for a Gameplay Designer for their upcoming Bond title. Activision declined to give any further specifics on the matter, so details on scheduled release date or specific platforms will be announced later.

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman is not happy with the latest Rainbow Six title set in Las Vegas, saying it is harmful for what federal and state leaders have repeatedly assured him is "the safest place imaginable" after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is reviewing whether the game infringes on any Las Vegas trademarks. Others think it might not affect the city but rather reflect poorly on Ubisoft, while yet others claim it will backlash on the developer like Hot Coffee did on Rockstar.
