Sierra sends word that the new/official site for Papyrus' upcoming NASCAR Racing 2002 Season is now live. It has a link to the demo and a bunch of screenshots to keep you happy untill it arrives in stores (which ought to be SOON).

Westwood Studios announced today that Academy Award Winner Doug Chiang, Design Director for Star Wars Episodes I and II has joined the Earth and Beyond Online team as a consultant and will be providing concept art for all of the player space ships in the game. Earth and Beyond Online is Westwood's first massively-multiplayer game and will be published under the EA GAMES brand this summer. Westwood is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Electronic Arts.

Today the Russian site KDLAB updated the official site for the upcoming real-time strategy game, Perimeter, with some new screens.. Perimeter is built on the concept of territory seizure using detailed terraforming and on the subsequent encircling of these zones with a special protective perimeter. THQ Inc. today announced Hot Wheels (working title) is in development for PlayStation2. Created by car combat game developer Beyond Games, Hot Wheels is a unique mission-based racing adventure set in a dark, futuristic world that appeals to core gamers and racing enthusiasts alike. THQ's Hot Wheels for PlayStation 2 is scheduled for release in fall 2002.

When shot, blood actually squirts out of the bodies and leaves blood on surfaces as decals. The 'dust puff' is also changed to a blood color. It's pretty good.

Microsoft today announced that two new MechWarrior 4 'Mech Paks will be available in retail locations throughout North America this year. The Paks will expand the gameplay for the best-selling, award-winning MechWarrior 4: Vengeance, based on the popular game of mechanized combat from FASA Studios. Each Pak will give players new 'Mechs, a new electronics package, a new weapon, and a multiplayer map. Cyberlore, the team behind the successful MechWarrior 4: Black Knight expansion, is developing the Paks in conjunction with the FASA MechWarrior 4 team.
