The US Army has released the promised patch for America's Army: Operations. This upgrade brings their team-based multiplayer game to v 2.0 and adds a new Special Forces character class, new Indigenous Forces, new SF weapons (the SOPMOD M4 carbine, Special Purpose Rifle and Thermite Grenade), new OpFor weapons (Vss Vintorez and AKS-74U), 3D Ironsights, in-game IRC Chat Client, half a dozen new maps, and numerous other improvements and fixes (thanks Blues). Activision has released its second quarter results which generally reflects some slowdown in sales/business compared to last year. It does however also reveal Gray Matter Studios' Quake 3 engine based Xbox/PC shooter "Trinity" has been cancelled (as well as Street Hoops sequel and Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder 2).

Namco Hometek Inc. announced today that its highly anticipated, 3rd person action adventure title, Spawn: Armageddon, has gone gold. Coming to the PlayStation2, GameCube and Xbox, Namco’s newest bad boy on the block video game is scheduled to “Spawn” on November 21, 2003.

L.S.P. Bringing Namco Console Titles to PC

As we already revealed last week ambitious French publisher L.S.P. is looking towards 2004 with great anticipation. Two titles: kill.switch and Pac-Man World 2 from games legend NAMCO, are due for release on the PC in early 2004. L.S.P. will also be announcing further titles in the near future. Both games are published by L.S.P. Across Europe and through HIP Games in North America.
