'Halo' Franchise Going Multiplatform

Whether or not Bungie will make Halo games beyond ODST, Microsoft is looking to carry the franchise onto multiple platforms — but no other consoles. The Redwood software giant is looking for a software development engineer "to blend console, web, and mobile to create an immersive Halo world," and to "deliver a great out-of-game interactive experience that takes the next step beyond the systems found in Halo 3."

In early 2008, one of Atari's financial results revealed a slew of new titles, one of them being a multiplatform title, Airborne Rangers. According to former Atari/EA producer Ash Monif, who has since moved on to Subatomic Studios, Airborne Rangers was a free-to-play FPS featuring a virtual monetary point system, character & weapon customizations, cross-platform interactivity & mini-games, 3D social space, and progressive in-game fictional timeline (thanks superannuation).
