PS2 Review - 'Starsky and Hutch'

Following the style of the TV show the game won't just simply be another driver/shooter. In each level you'll have to maintain viewer ratings (VR) that acts like a timer. Saunter around Bay City carefully obeying the speed limit and people will switch off with boredom; reproduce the over the top driving of the cult duo performing corner slides and ploughing through every cardboard box infested alley that gets in the way and your ratings will soar.

Empire announced today it has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to develop a sequel to the Starsky & Hutch video game. The new game will include new city locations, enhanced graphics and classic music tracks from the 70's and a key new game play feature, which will allow villains to be chased on foot together with new spectacular car chases. It will be published for all current video game consoles and PCs.

Empire Interactive has released a new patch for their recently released arcade racing game, Starsky and Hutch. This upgrade brings your retail copy to v1.32 but no specific details as to what this actually fixes/upgrades are available at this point, although the FAQ mentions you need to download the patch to get the Microsoft Forcefeed Back Steering Wheel to work in the game. The Starsky & Hutch game is a story-based police driving action game, taking place in a truly 3-D world modeled after the series location of "Bay City". The game is split into individual episodic time-based missions, where the player will be challenged and rewarded based on their performance. A television rating board will score the users game-play and depending on skill will reward the player with bonus points and/or power-up's... Check out the first seven shots from the GBA version.

Starsky & Hutch is scheduled for release on PC and PS2 in April 2003 and a Xbox version will be released in May. The Gamecube and GBA versions will be released in September.. Now the official site is up, loaded with screens, gameinfo and much more..

Empire Interactive has announced that Antonio Fargas, aka Huggy Bear, has been signed for the in-game voice-overs and to help promote the PlayStation 2 and PC versions of its new “Starsky & Hutch” game. Helping Starsky and Hutch clean up the streets, Huggy was present in almost every episode of the hugely popular 70’s show.
