'Unreal Tournament 3' (ALL) Content Limited by HD-DVD?

After we previously had one of the PGR4 developers speaking out about their game being limited by the HD DVD (even though it was retracted shortly thereafter) Epic's VP Mark Rein made a similar statement. At the Edinburgh Interactive Festival Rein stated, "We'll compress some things. But you know, we may have fewer maps on the 360 version...Blu-Ray has definitely given us a lot of legroom."

Silicon Knights Suing Epic Games Over Unreal Engine 3 Issues

Epic's VP Mark Rein revealed they have been served with a lawsuit by Too Human developer Silicon Knights, but he refused to comment further on the matter, as advised by the legal department. Silicon Knights' president Denis Dyack, however, claims Epic's breach of contract forced them to proceed this way because "Epic simply refuses to acknowledge the inadequacies of the Unreal Engine 3 code it provides to its licensees," resulting in serious financial loss to SK and other developers. 'Unreal Tournament 3' (ALL) to Feature Dozens of Maps

The latest issue of OXM has an in-depth article looking at Midway/Epic's upcoming FPS Unreal Tournament 3. BeyondUnreal analyzed that preview coverage revealing that Epic has abandoned its initial idea to make gigantic maps utilizing UE3's streaming technology for up to 64 players, and instead went back to improving the original formula. The article also indicates that the retail game will feature 3 to 4 dozen multiplayer maps, with the single player portion exceeding that tally. The X360 edition will support 4-player co-op and 2-player split-screen in the singleplayer
