Valve's SteamPowered website has been updated with details regarding yet another update for Source SDK, fixing a number of connection problems to the backend of VAC2 (Valve's anti-cheat technology for game servers). VAC2 currently only runs on servers in the beta group, but will be active for all servers very soon.. Just restart Steam for the effects to take place.

There is quite a stir going on in the Battlefield 2 community as many server admins have started raising questions about their servers no longer showing up in the in-game master server list. Curiously enough all the missing servers were running minor mods to unlock hidden weapons and remove the ridiculously short time limit. At least 80 servers have been removed without any prior notice or explanation from EA, and there has been no official comment from the EA community moderators either. A possible workaround is changing the server ip or the name, especially if it includes mod hints such as "no time limit" etc.

Four NBA teams will head to Europe for a competition against top European basketball clubs in October 2006 and 2007 as part of NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS, the NBA and Euroleague Basketball announced today. Mythic Entertainment today announced that Steve Perkins has joined the company as Director of Marketing. A seven-year veteran of the computer and videogame industry, Perkins recently served in the same capacity at EA leading the marketing for numerous titles, including the "Battlefield" franchise. In his new role, Perkins will oversee all aspects of strategic marketing including advertising, promotions, PR and the management of Mythic's relationships with key marketing partners.

With MoH European Assault barely in stores, EALA has already been working on the next installment in the MoH franchise for nearly six months according to GameSpot. EA sources have revealed that the new title will be a Band of Brothers (or Brothers in Arms) type title, but more importantly, it was mentioned that Airborne would be a PS3 launch title. This does not necessarily mean it will be a platform exclusive, more an indication of its scheduled released date. Square Enix announced today that FullMetal Alchemist 2: Curse of The Crimson Elixir will ship to retailers nationwide on July 12, 2005. This fast-paced action RPG prequel to FullMetal Alchemist And The Broken Angel is the second installment in the FullMetalseries. Exclusively for the PlayStation2, FullMetal Alchemist 2 follows the story in the anime series, which airs on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming.
