No seismic shift occurred between the original Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari for the PlayStation 2, and the PSP iteration, Me & My Katamari, did little to disrupt the balance of simplistic gameplay and quirky storytelling established back in 2004. Beautiful Katamari for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 looks to continue this trend of complacency, expanding the role of the multiplayer game while generally maintaining the same style and feel of its predecessors.

Namco today launched the
official We Love Katamari website, rolling to planet Earth with game information, images, fun downloads and fan contests. Once the game launched on Septebmer 20th, fans will be able to submit pictures of their favorite katamari-themed creations including costumes, artwork, etc. for all site visitors to see and enjoy. On a regular basis, the images will be judged by the franchise’s creator, Keita Takahashi, and prizes will be awarded to these selected fans.

EA Europe today announced plans to co-publish Namco's PS2 exclusive We Love Katamari in PAL territories, early 2006. We Love Katamari sees the return of the pocket-sized Prince and his merry band of multi-coloured cousins under the watchful eye of his Exalted Smugness, the King of All Cosmos.
