The weekend is over, and so is PAX East, which unfortunately did not result in many news items.
We had a busy movie weekend, and yesterday's "Battle: Los Angeles" did not disappoint. It is an excellent action movie, some weak attempts at jokes/puns not withstanding. We also watched Kitchen Nightmares, Hawaii Five-0, Bones, The Event, and the
last episode of The Cape, which is only available online.
Japan's troubles seem far from over, as it suffered a massive earthquake followed by a sweeping tsunami. There are now a few (two confirmed, three possibilities) nuclear reactors that are critical. Some have had explosions inside and are obviously
leaking radiation. Not good ....

We saw
The Adjustment Bureau yesterday, and it was quite good. The chemistry between the two main actors (
Matt Damon and
Emily Blunt) was amazing. Comparisons to
Inception are warranted, but only in terms of the type of movie, because
Christopher Nolan's masterpiece is in a totally different league. Today we're heading out to the theater again to see Battle: L.A., which, according to box office predictions, is the #1 movie this weekend. Let's hope it lives up to expectations.
In case you had not yet noticed, we've been giving away download codes (PSN, XBLA, Steam) on
our Twitter feed for various games, and I wanted to send congrats to the Beyond Good & Evil HD winners, especially
this guy for being creative.

Luckily, yesterday's tsunami warning wasn't as severe as first feared. However, it was wicked to see how an earthquake thousands of miles away still has
an eerie effect hours later at the other end of the ocean. Glad to know that Hawaii was spared as well, since we are going there next year for our 10th wedding anniversary. At the same time, it is quite shocking to see the
devastating effects the tsunami had in Japan. It's baffling how some people watch it unfold in front of their eyes and then scurry off in a panic when they realize it's
real.
On a different note, last night, we went to the Asian Art Museum to watch a friend play the
gamelan in "
The Creatures of Balinese Mythology." Not really my cup of tea, but I persevered!
