THQ Inc. today announced that Disney Princesses for Game Boy Advance is currently in development and is scheduled to release in Spring 2003. The game is based on the Disney Princess characters in Disney's animated classic films "Cinderella," "The Little Mermaid," "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Sleeping Beauty," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin."

Games development is set to get cheaper and quicker, following the announcement today of a new development tool for the Nintendo GameCube, by SN Systems Ltd, the leading provider of development tools to the console games industry. The new hardware, developed as part of a collaboration between SN Systems and Nintendo, can be used with SN's development tools "ProDG for Nintendo GameCube" to build, debug, view and optimise games.

THQ today announced that it will publish Rainbow Studios' "Splashdown 2," the sequel to the critically acclaimed, top-selling "Splashdown." THQ Inc. today announced that agreement in principle has been reached to settle the class action lawsuit first filed against the Company in February 2000. The settlement remains subject to negotiation of a final written agreement between THQ and the plaintiffs, as well as court approval.

Today Global Star Software has announced plans to release Austin Powers Pinball for the PC platform. Under license from New Line Cinema, and developed by Wildfire Studios, Austin Powers Pinball will feature a score of characters from the blockbuster Austin Powers feature films, including Dr. Evil, Vanessa Kensington, Felicity Shagwell, Fat Bastard, Mini-Me, the Fembots and many more.

Majesco today announced one of its newest offerings for 2003, BlowOut, a next generation 3D side-scrolling shooter intended for release for the PlayStation2, Xbox, and PC. Developed by Kaos Kontrol, BlowOut is slated for release next fall.

Infogrames has just announced that its hugely successful V-Rally brand is speeding onto the Xbox in April 2003. Following on from the unprecedented success of the PlayStation 2 version, V-Rally 3 on Xbox will be the definitive version of this great racer and leave other rally games trailing in its dust.

The newest issue of Computer Games magazine has a brief article on an upcoming Dungeons & Dragons PC RPG called "The Temple Of Elemental Evil". Based on a classic 1985 D&D pen-and-paper module from its creator Gary Gygax, the article states that the developer of the game will be Trokia, who previously developed the "steampunk" RPG Arcanum. The game is scheduled to be released via publisher Infogrames in the latter half of 2003, according to the report (thanks HomeLan).

Incoming Forces is an action game that allows players to take command of an alien defense force to protect their worldly planets at all costs. Players will control one of 10 different crafts at anytime throughout the game including gun-ships, fighters, tanks and an array of others as they protect various alien worlds. Battle will take place on four uniquely molded planets, each with its own 3D modeled terrain, environmental features and world specific objects.

Sierra Entertainment, Inc., announced today the latest addition to their NASCAR racing franchise. Developed by Massachusetts-based Papyrus Racing Games, NASCAR Racing 2003 Season will feature new 3D graphics, an enhanced physics model developed with the input of official NASCAR team engineers, and informative driving aids for both seasoned and novice drivers. In addition, the game will include 2003 NASCAR Cup series teams, sponsors, and tracks.

Infogrames, Inc. and the creators of NASCAR Heat, today announced it has shipped NASCAR: Dirt to DAYTONA for PlayStation2 and Nintendo GameCube. Dirt to DAYTONA is the first game of its kind, giving fans a true NASCAR racing series experience by participating in and progressing through the ranks of the NASCAR Weekly Racing series presented by Dodge, NASCAR Featherlite Modified series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck series and the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, all in one game.

The upcoming Unreal engine-based first person shooter Devastation now has a major contest available online at Devastation and Grathius. It's not your standard "type name, hit enter" kind of experience, either. At Grathius, the Web site for the fictional corporate oppressor in the game, you will be taken through an interactive experience that will introduce some of the game's main characters and concepts. You'll hack into the corporate site with the help of Resistance member Baxter, delete profiles of main characters and help Baxter gain access to some of Grathius' top-secret technology. Eidos Interactive announces that the No.1 selling Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is to be released on GameCube. Since its release on PlayStation 2, PC and Xbox in October this year, the game has enjoyed worldwide success having shipped in excess of one million units.
