In an interview with MCV, the UK's games trade mag, Ric Williams of Eidos Interactive reveals that North London-based Beautiful Game Studios is creating the latest Championship Manager title. BGS is a dedicated internal Eidos studio with 30 staff who have over 100 cumulative years development experience, and have previously worked on over 90 titles, 60 of which were football titles (

Championship Manager 4 has smashed all records for UK PC game sales, having generated retail sales of 124,627 in its first week of release, according to the official UK chart organisation Chart-Track. This more than doubles the sales achieved by the previous PC best-seller, Championship Manager: Season 01/02. This phenomenal performance has also propelled CM4 into the top three of Chart-Track's 'All-Formats' fastest-seller list, with only the two PlayStation 2 smash hits, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and The Getaway, standing above it.

SI Games are very excited to announce that the English version of CM4 has now officially gone to gold master, and the game will be released in the UK & Eire on March 28th, 2003. The non UK releases are due to go gold in the next couple of weeks, and should be out shortly after the UK release (specific release dates will follow when we have them). We are still working on trying to get distribution sorted for the Americas, and more info will follow about that in the coming weeks. Please note, if you live outside the UK and decide to import the UK version of the game, it is ONLY in English language. An updated demo of the game will be released in due course, a further announcement with regards to this will be made on Friday

Miles from Sports Interactive revealed some more information about their upcoming Championship Manager 4 demo in his Christmas speech. Here follow a small clip:
So, what will 2003 bring? Well, Eastside should see the light of day towards the end of the year, but there are a couple of other Sports Interactive products out before then...
The first will be the CM4 magazine (issue 2), and the demo for CM4. These will be released on Friday, February 14th.
The second will be Championship Manager 4. This is now looking hopeful for release on February 28th on PC & Mac in the UK, with non UK Eidos releases a few days later (Germany, France, Holland, Spain, South East Asia).

To be released December 6th.. Championship Manager season 02/03 boasts a number of improvements like the implementation of the new transfer league window, the most up-to-date statistics on console and the facility to play music from your Xbox. All this should go nicely towards filling in the time between the festive football matches with the same addictive gameplay that is the hallmark of the series.
