Sierra Entertainment, Inc., a studio of the Games division of Vivendi Universal Publishing, and Impressions Games today announced that their new city-building game, Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom, has shipped to retail stores nationwide. Developed by Breakaway Games Ltd., Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom takes aspiring city governors to ancient China, adding several revolutionary features, including local area network (LAN) and Internet multiplayer gameplay, a first in the city-building genre.

Gigex has just put up access to downloads of a demo for Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom, BreakAway and Impressions Games' now-gold isometric strategy/building game set in China. According to Gigex, "The demo includes six tutorial missions set in the ancient Xia dynasty in medieval China, three single-player scenarios set in the Shang dynasty, and one multiplayer mission." The demo is a 130 MB download (Thanks Blues).

Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom brings city builders inside the Great Wall of China. Leaving the Mediterranean behind, the city-building series makes its first foray into the Orient and immerses the player in brand new surroundings. China has existed for over 4,000 years, but its 4,000 year history has been marked with new technologies and ideas replacing – or enhancing – the old. Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today the Fall 2003 release of Rise to Honor (working title), a fast-paced action-adventure game inspired by the excitement and cinematic styling of the Hong Kong action movie genre, developed exclusively for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system. Created by Sony Computer Entertainment America's Foster City Studio in collaboration with action star Jet Li (The One, Kiss of the Dragon, Lethal Weapon 4, The Bodyguard from Beijing, Fist of Legend, Shaolin Temple), Rise to Honor will immerse players into a chain of lethal missions that extend from Hong Kong to San Francisco.

Voodooextreme got some new screenshots posted for this upcoming MMORPG, Neocron (our recent posted screens is available here). The open beta test will begin early August, and the game is due out Q4 of this year. In a move that strengthens its already robust Hollywood-based video game lineup, Infogrames, a leading global publisher of interactive entertainment software, has signed a deal with C-2 Pictures and Intermedia to develop and distribute video games based on the highly-anticipated Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines motion picture.

Microsoft Game Studios today announced that the official Rise of Nations Fan Site Kit (FSK) is now available. The Rise of Nations FSK file (6 MB) contains the following items to help webmasters achieve global supremacy with a Rise of Nations site of their own. Rise Of Nations looks a mix between Empire Earth and Age Of Empire. They should have just called it Rise Of Empire or Empire Of Nations .. either way .. Njoy!

Tiscali have posted a new Rainbow Six: Raven Shield E3 trailer, which contains three minutes of in-game footage from this Unreal-powered tactical shooter from UbiSoft.
