Blizzard today announced that multi-platinum recording artists The Offspring will headline the closing-night concert at BlizzCon, Blizzard's inaugural game festival. GameRadio.de has composed quite an impressive movie about "the spirit of games convention." With
this movie, supported by publishers and video-experts, they want to transport the feeling of Europe's biggest videogame-fair, the Games Convention in Leipzig. It´s an exceptional movie with a professional (licensed) soundtrack, impressions of the games and an interview with the manager of that fair. It has a slight german comment, but the information is transported by music and pictures.

Ubisoft today announced that new downloadable content is available on XBOX Live for owners of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. The Content Download for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory includes 2 new Coop missions that continue the Coop story and bring it to the end. The 2 missions are: Nuclear Plant, and UN Headquarters. Both new missions are playable in Split Screen, System Link and Xbox Live, both missions are playable only in Mission and Elite Mode.

Unreal Championship fans can play as any one of 14 characters from the Unreal universe, each with spectacular new Adrenaline Powers that enable new offensive and defensive combos. Ubisoft announced today that it will launch the Splinter Cell Chaos Theory “Best Map” contest this summer. Everyone can create his own map thanks to the map editor provided with the game. The Jury – whose members are the creators of the Versus Mode from Ubisoft’s studio in Annecy (France)– will reward the 10 best maps created. Dutch publishers Xing Interactive have announced the August 1st release date of a horizontal-scrolling space shoot 'em up, DoveZ: The Second Wave, which has been available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Singapore since the start of 2005. The suggested retail price is 9.99 GBP/14.99 Euro/US$19.99. DoveZ: The Second Wave is in the style of R-type and Raptor. Not really much of a surprise, but in a recent
interview with IGN, Maxis producer Scot Amos revealed that they have been working on porting The Sims 2 to consoles and handheld systems. The base of the game will be content that people liked in The Sims 2, but also material taken from the University expansion pack. But people who are familiar with the PC edition, still might want to check the console editions, since it will also have new & exclusive content, new locations, new characters and so forth. The PS2 edition will support HDD and Eye Toy (you can import yourself into the game as a character), the Xbox version will HDTV and 720dpi, while the Gamecube will have custom content.
