Polyphony Digital revealed that GT5 will more than double Forza 3's number of cars, promising 1000 vehicles, 20 tracks in 60 different layouts, custom soundtrack support, and while there is a damage model, it will be limited to certain car manufacturers.

While GT 5 Prologue has been available for a while now, sporting improved AI and multiplayer, gamers are surely looking forward to the full Gran Turismo 5 release in Q4 2009 according to a brochure handed out at GamesCom 09. revealed that the team is currently focusing on adding content to GT 5 Prologue (such as vehicle damage) and there is no development being done on GT 5 until 2009, possibly 2010.

While GT 5 Prologue is already available in Europe, it will not show up in stores on Blu-ray, or downloadable on PSN until April 15. Even further out is the actual full GT5 game, which according to SCEA associate producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda is still about a year away. While the franchise is unlikely to appear on any non-Sony consoles, Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi revealed
in an interview with Austrian newspaper Der Standard that Gran Turismo 5 might make an appearance on the PC.
