Pterodon and Illusion Softworks have issued a patch for the recent multiplayer demo of Vietcong, their upcoming team-based tactical shooter. The patch offers over two dozen gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, and other changes as detailed in the accompanying patch info, but brings the game to version 0.97 which is not compatible with the original v0.96 demo.

Although the Splinter Cell PC demo was embargoed until 6PM CET (12PM EST) it seems that the people at FilePlanet have jumped the gun and decided to beat the crowd. A playable demo of Knight Rider: the Game is now available, offering the opportunity to step into the shoes of Michael Knight and the driver's seat of his KITT car. This demo contains one mission where "KITT has to follow the helicopter and keep it range in three levels of difficulty." (thanks Tiscali). Microsoft Game Studios today announced that
Impossible Creatures has gone gold and is scheduled to ship to stores in North America on January 7... After a limited-scale stress test, Relic Entertainment has now opened the multiplayer test of their imminent 3D real-time strategy game Impossible Creatures for everyone. This test version offers the tutorial, a skirmish mode, animal combiner and online play, along with 14 of the 51 creatures from the full game. Note that the test contains the EZ Pad digital rights management software (which will no longer be present in the final game, of course), and DirectX 8.2 (thanks 3DGamers). Arkane Studios has issued updated retail patches for Arx Fatalis, nonetheless retaining their 3D role-playing game at version 1.15. This release addresses a gameplay bug where you would get stuck "Players reported that Kultar attacks you in the castle, if you did not free him from the prison at the beginning of the game. Zoo Tycoon fans can add to the allure of their parks as Microsoft Game Studios and developer Blue Fang today announced the availability of the Atlantis Theme Pack. The Pack contains the following Atlantean items: a gift shop, three undersea ruins, a new tank wall, two unique decorative fences, a statue, urn and archway. Blue Fang is also introducing a new animal to the Zoo Tycoon world - the barracuda. Both the Atlantis Theme Pack and the barracuda can be downloaded by visiting the
