Valve lastest
Steam Update has a few details on what to expect next now that it has released The Lost Coast map for Half-Life 2. Valve has been working on two new maps for CS:S, updated versions of de_nuke and cs_militia, along with a number of new player models for both sides. Its Zombie Movie has won Best Comedy Horror Short down at Screamfest L.A., so expect it over Steam soon, and its commentary system included in Lost Coast received positive responses so Valve is looking for ways to include it in future products.

Blizzard has released its yearly Warcraft III Halloween map, this time called "Extreme Candy War 2005"... Map info: " The object is to crush your opponent's Candy Mages who channel an invulnerable shield around their Candy Vault. Once the Candy Mages are down, destroy their Candy Vault to win! This year's version features updated hero abilities, new items, and faster paced gameplay." This is a medium map size and the suggested no. of players is 4v4 or 5v5. It is based on the "Outland" tileset.

WoWGuru claims to have received information from a former Blizzard employee that the studio will be unveiling Diablo 3 at BlizzCon. Said to be a Massively Multiplayer Online much like World of Warcraft, the concept being Hell invading Heaven, Darkness taking over Light, and it will include Guild Housing. That same source also revealed that Starcraft 2 has been in development and Diablo is being worked on for the X360 and not World of Warcraft as was previously rumored. We will know more tomorrow when Blizzard officially kicks off BlizzCon at the Anaheim Convention Center

At the Austin Game Conference Sony Online Entertainment President John Smedley revealed that SOE is looking to break from its traditional subscription-based MMO formula. Plans are on the board to release a game by next fall that can be played free of its monthly charges. With this new approach SOE hopes to make up for the steady cash flow by attracting more people to the game and make up revenue by continuously adding new weapons, levels and special items.

When earlier this week Eidos revealed Zero Tolerance: City Under Fire no additional details were available on this seemingly new product. As it turns out Zero Tolerance is not entirely new, as in a previous life it went by Roll Call. Zero Tolerance is an FPS set in the not too distant future and lets you play as Nick Mason, a member of the newly formed G18 Counter Gang Division; an elite enforcement unit granted special emergency powers over all other public services and tasked with securing the city and its citizens at all cost.

Back at E3 2005 Sony showed the first glimpses of a new title in the Syphon Filter franchise, but did not disclose any details, up until today. Syphon Filter : Dark Mirror is scheduled to be released in North America spring 2006 and will not only see the return of Gabe Logan, but also Theresa, Lipan et Lian Xing. The PSP version will allow you to give commands to the rest of your team a la SOCOM, and a multiplayer wi-fi mode is also par of the new features. Sony promises near PS2 quality graphics due to the usage of streaming technology. More details soon ...
