This autumn, Team RAINBOW is back! The elite multinational squad of counter-terrorist operatives returns in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Athena Sword, the first mission pack of the wildly successful Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. They defeated the diabolical plot of a terrorist mastermind in the smash-hit PC game Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. But a few desperate remnants of the organization remain - and Team RAINBOW won't rest until terror has been vanquished and the world is safe. The Adventure Company today announced it has an agreement with Jane Jensen and the company she co-founded, Odyssey Digital Entertainment, to write and produce an exclusive new title. Terms of the deal were not discussed. Jane Jensen has made a massive name for herself amongst gamers, especially the legions of fans that adored her Gabriel Knight Mystery Series. Renowned for writing some of the most story-intensive games of all time, Jane has the ability to capture the gamer’s imagination.

Microsoft Game Studios today announced that Dungeon Siege II is currently in development and is slated for release in 2004. A trailer for Dungeon Siege II will be shown at E3, the annual video game convention taking place in Los Angeles from May 14 through 16. Visitors to the Microsoft booth (South Hall #1246) will be treated to a taste of the vision and direction of this upcoming title. This cinematic feast for the eyes showcases the extraordinary capabilities of the Dungeon Siege II engine, as the entire movie was created in-engine.

Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing division of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. has announced the North American release date for Midnight Club II for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and the PC. Midnight Club II for the Xbox will be in stores on June 4th in North America and June 6th in Europe. The PC version of Midnight Club II will be available on June 25th in North America and June 27th in Europe.

Activision is unleashing a one-man cybernetic wrecking crew with the announcement of TRINITY, a new first person action game for the PC and Xbox. Set in the year 2013, TRINITY transports players into a dark alternate future where a deadly plague threatens to destroy the city of New Orleans. As the mysterious "Nightstalker," a bio-technically enhanced one-man vigilante force, players will cut a swath of destruction through the Big Easy as they attempt to uncover the source of the deadly virus, and save the city from impending disaster. The PC version of the game is being created by Gray Matter Studios the development team behind Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The Xbox version is being developed by Vicarious Visions. TRINITY is expected to ship in 2004

Toronto-based Groove Games, a global publisher of interactive entertainment software, announced today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the signing of a game development deal with Brainbox Games. Rise of Nations combines the epic scope of traditional turn-based strategy games with the fast-paced action of RTS games. The game allows players to create new cities, improve their city infrastructure and expand national borders. Players have the option to win through military might using everything from slingshots to cannons to stealth bombers, corner the market on key commodities, and wheel and deal with a wide variety of Nations. In the trial version, gamers can choose between four of the 18 nations featured in the retail version of Rise of Nations. Sony Online Entertainment announced today that it is adding incentives to EverQuest II, the parallel online universe to the hugely successful gaming phenomenon EverQuest, to reward current EverQuest players for the time they have invested enjoying the original title. The incentives will include exclusive crossover quest zones in each game that will be accessible only by subscribers of both games, allowing characters in EverQuest and EverQuest II to gain access to hidden treasures, an EverQuest II in-game reward for loyal fans, and additional features to be disclosed over the coming months for ongoing EverQuest and EverQuest II players. EverQuest II is expected to ship to U.S. and Canadian retail stores this winter.
