ATI Technologies Inc. leading graphics technology provider, and Valve, creators of Half-Life, Counter-Strike and other award-winning PC action games, announced the first public showing of Valve's Half-Life 2 will take place at next week's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, CA. The product will be shown on ATI's RADEON 9800 PRO 256MB, the highest performance 3D card currently available, in a state of the art theater located in ATI's booth (South Hall, 646). Half-Life 2, published by Vivendi Universal Games, will be demonstrated by Gabe Newell, Valve's co-founder and Managing Director, every half-hour. The original Half-Life was launched to tremendous reviews in 1998, won over 50 "Game of the year" awards worldwide, and launched a franchise with over 8 million units sold.

Arxeltribe let us know that they tossed up the official site for their upcoming action-investigation game HANNIBAL. Based on the eponymous movie by Ridley Scott, Hannibal: The Game is a first person Action/Investigation developed for the PC. You embody Agent Clarice Starling, an FBI agent on the deadly track of Dr. Hannibal Lecter. I noticed over at gamesindustry.biz that hacker-engineer Andrew "Bunnie" Huang says he's already pre-sold between 400 and 500 copies of his self-published tell-all "Hacking the Xbox: an Introduction to Reverse Engineering," weeks before its scheduled May 27th publication date, despite -- or perhaps because of -- looming suspicions by some that the book skirts the edges of legality. "It' s about getting the book out there on principle, because I can't find a publisher willing to publish it," says Huang. "I think it's controversial, but not illegal." Read the

GarageGames announced today the launch of the Windows demo and full retail version of ThinkTanks, a single and multi-player cartoon styled tank game. ThinkTanks is a power-up based tank combat game with simplified play mechanics meant to appeal to the casual gamer. Bethesda today announced that it will release a Morrowind Game of the Year (GotY) edition for the Xbox that will include the original version of its award-winning RPG The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, along with content from the two Morrowind expansions: Tribunal and Bloodmoon. Activision sent our a notice to update everyone on Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory progress. "Thanks to dedicated gamers and testers, we've been working on fixing bugs and other issues that have been uncovered in the recently released map test. We've also been following feedback in the community to help us address any balance issues. We're in the final phases of testing and tweaking and hope to be ready to release the full, free, stand-alone game Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory early next week.

Chaser is set in the year 2044 with players taking the role of John Chaser who, at the beginning of the game, wakes up suffering from amnesia on board the spaceship HMS Majestic being pursued by a crack team of heavily armed shocktroop soldiers.
