EA and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire videogame, scheduled for a November 2005 release in conjunction with the film based on J.K. Rowling's fourth book. The title will be available on all current consoles, handhelds, and the PC.
In the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban videogame, releasing in conjunction with the next movie, Harry Potter and his friends Ron Weasley? and Hermione Granger return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Electronic Arts is inviting Harry Potter fans to live out their dream of a Quidditch victory and compete in the first-ever Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup videogame tournament event. Videogame enthusiasts in the U.S. can enter the U.S. Tournament Sweepstakes at the official
Quidditch World Cup website, or at any Toys R Us location. Eight lucky winners will be flown to compete in the U.S. finals, taking place at an undisclosed location in mid-November. There players will go head-to-head on the Nintendo GameCube playing the soon-to-be-released Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup videogame from Electronic Arts, which will ship under the EA GAMES brand.

The Quidditch World Cup tournament progresses through a unique ladder system where players must defeat the team ranked above them by a variable amount of points, making the choice of when to go after the Golden Snitch a tactical one—capture it before amassing enough points to advance up the ladder and you may win the match but lose a chance to advance.
