Electronic Arts announced today that acclaimed theatre and film actor Gary Oldman has joined the ranks of Hollywood talent enlisted by EA and will lend his voice-over talents to Medal of Honor Allied Assault Spearhead. Mr. Oldman will provide the voice-over for the historical video segments and briefings that appear between each mission in the World War II themed game. The game is currently under development by EALA and is scheduled for release on PC this November under the EA GAMES brand.

Three of the nation's top retailers, including Wal Mart, on Monday said they had refused to carry a new video game billed as the first major release to feature full-action nudity and with prostitutes and pimps as major characters. Using the tagline "Keep it Dirty," video game publisher Acclaim Entertainment Inc. is gearing up for the Nov. 19 launch of "BMX XXX," a game that also features copulating pink poodles and a variety of racing bike stunts. But major retailers Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Toys R Us Inc. and KB Toys all said they would not carry the game, a potential blow for the game's exposure.

THQ Inc. and JAKKS Pacific, Inc. today announced the North American release of their newest World Wrestling Entertainment (NYSE:WWE) licensed video game, "WWE Raw" for the PC. "WWE Raw" allows players to go one-on-one with high-flying athletes and brutal brawlers in a variety of match types based on the poplar cable program that airs every Monday night on The Nashville Network. Videogame sales of THQ/JAKKS World Wrestling Entertainment license have exceeded more than $300 million in the U.S. since 1999.

The 3DO Company today announced that Street Racing Syndicate is currently in development for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, and the Nintendo GameCube system. Scheduled for release in 2003, "SRS" captures the heart of street racing culture, and includes extensive car customization, police intervention, and high stakes competition. The game is being developed by racing game specialist Eutechnyx Ltd. which has developed such popular titles as F1 World Grand Prix 2000, 007 Racing and Le Mans 24 Hours.

The Anaheim Angels have won the ALCS (American League Championship Series) against the Minnesota Twins and are going to the World Series for the first time in their history.
