Purge, delivers a compelling combination of first-person shooter gameplay and RPG character development, immersing players in a strife-torn world that blends science fiction and fantasy. This beta build primarily focuses on optimizes the netcode. All players should see large drop in ping. Player creatable base constructions (Barriers, Generators, Shrines, etc.) should no longer significantly increase ping. Purge 1.3.6 also fixes reported various bugs in Purge. Also, for players who still think Purge is played like typical deathmatch FPS, a new "helper" message system added assist new players to Purge's unique game style. The Gladiators is a 3D real-time strategy game featuring a heavy emphasis on tactics and action. Arxel feels that The Gladiators could be a real hit in the North American market and wants to make sure it gets there in a timely fashion. Microsoft Game Studios today announced that
Impossible Creatures has gone gold and is scheduled to ship to stores in North America on January 7... After a limited-scale stress test, Relic Entertainment has now opened the multiplayer test of their imminent 3D real-time strategy game Impossible Creatures for everyone. This test version offers the tutorial, a skirmish mode, animal combiner and online play, along with 14 of the 51 creatures from the full game. Note that the test contains the EZ Pad digital rights management software (which will no longer be present in the final game, of course), and DirectX 8.2 (thanks 3DGamers). Players will lead as many as six expertly trained soldiers through 20 dramatic missions, and follow a storyline that captures the danger, fear and unpredictability of the war itself. NovaLogic releases the Delta Force: Black Hawk Down Official Multiplayer Demo, the demo features one multiplayer level and includes day and night settings. The demo is playable over the NovaWorld Games Network and via LAN. The 60 MB file is available on
this NovaLogic Downloads Page which has a list of mirrors.

UPDATE NovaLogic sends word that there is an updated version of the Delta Force Black Hawk Down Demo available that removes the NetQuartz ezpad technology that's been causing problems. Update 11 can be apply by clicking the "update game" button. Word is "once this update has installed, consumers will then be able to uninstall the ezpad technology and play with the demo as normal. To fully uninstall ezpad, right click on the ezpad icon on the task bar, and select quit, then uninstall the software via the ADD/REMOVE Programs option in the control panel."
