InterActive Vision announced the development of Pacific Warriors II, the follow-up to its World War II air combat action PC game (aka in North America as Beyond Pearl Harbor: Pacific Warriors). Pacific Warriors II will offer the same instant-action gameplay formula that the first game offered, along with the ability to play as either the US or the Japanese. Other new features include a pilot 1st person view in addition to the external 3rd person views, a choice of plane before each mission, accurate weapons and mission themes, animated ground troops and vehicles, American and Japanese-style in-game commentary and much more. ValuSoft will publish the game in the US. The game is scheduled for gold status in August 2003 (thanks gamespydaily).

Today GameDale are happy to officially announce their new game project - WASTED: Hostile Mechanoids Zone. Genre of the game could be best described as 3D First Person Arcade, because the main point of the game is non-stop action, without any storyline mysteries and unanswered questions (well, almost... :), no switches to activate, no keys to find, no doors to open, no stupid riddles to solve, and no hero characteristics to improve. From a gameplay point of view WASTED will remind you of the funny 3D FPS - "Serious Sam", but without everything mentioned above... Check out some screens and features below!

French-Canadian publisher Microids has commissioned Scandinavian game developer UDS to develop an action sports game called “Tennis Masters Series 2003” (TMS 2003) for PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube. Expanding the reach of Wolverine's razor sharp adamantium claws, Activision announced today that X-Men: Wolverine's Revenge is headed to the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and PC. With the addition of these two versions, the game will be released this spring on five platforms simultaneously with the upcoming X-Men feature film entitled "X2." X-Men: Wolverine's Revenge is also in development for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube and is the only action-adventure game that allows players to assume the role of Wolverine, the ultimate fighting X-Man.

The newest issue of Computer Games magazine has a brief article on an upcoming Dungeons & Dragons PC RPG called "The Temple Of Elemental Evil". Based on a classic 1985 D&D pen-and-paper module from its creator Gary Gygax, the article states that the developer of the game will be Trokia, who previously developed the "steampunk" RPG Arcanum. The game is scheduled to be released via publisher Infogrames in the latter half of 2003, according to the report (

Noticed on GamePRO that Enix announced early today that, effective November 26, they will begin to merge operations with Square to form Square Enix, a brand-new company created to compete in the world gaming marketplace on the same level as America and Europe's large third parties. The two companies aim to complete the merger by April 1, 2003 and will aim to build a new firm that will produce 80 billion yen ($656 million) in sales and 15 billion yen ($123 million) in profit by fiscal 2005.

Take-Two acquired Angel Studios for an aggregate $28 million in cash and 235,679 shares of restricted Common Stock.
