THQ and Volition have announced that a Nintendo Gamecube version of Summoner 2 is currently in development and will be available in early 2003. "Summoner 2" for Gamecube is being developed by Cranky Pants Games, THQ's newest game development studio located in Seattle, Washington. Summoner 2 is the sequel to one of the PlayStation 2's top-selling launch titles, Summoner. Developed by Volition, creators of Red Faction. Summoner 2 for PlayStation 2 is available now at retail stores nationwide.

Vivendi Universal Publishing announced today several new games as part of its Games division's long-term agreement with Tolkien Enterprises to develop interactive entertainment based on J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit." The new titles include The Lord of the Rings: Middle-earth Online, an Online Massively Multi-player role playing game, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Ring, a real time strategy game, and additional PC and console titles based on Tolkien's "The Two Towers" and "The Return of the King."

It is not only a mad day for gold announcements but also got game delays as S&S Interactive's community manager mentioned on the official EVE: The Second Genesis discussion forums that the new release date for the game is December 10th. The extra time will be used by developers CCP to fine-tune the title (and you still owe us a beta!). Data Becker just let us know that their upcoming 3D RTS game, Highland Warriors (developed by Soft Enterprises), has been delayed until January 2003 due to the need for further balancing of the units in the game.

The official Blizzard web site is getting hit hard now that they have announced their secret title - 'Starcraft : Ghost', a mission based tactical console shooter set in the Starcraft universe, developed by Nihilistic Software andco-published by Capcom and Blizzard Entertainment in Japan.
