The Worms 3D website is now live, featuring a cool Junior Senior competition, screenshots, movies and all the game info you could fire a bazooka at. The Worms 3D site has also been kitted out with cool warmongers' tools to annoy and harass your friends, family, enemies and anyone you happen to be stalking at the moment. Go on, get amongst it, and start a war for the fun of it.

Team 17 reports that Worms 3D is Gold! That's right, All 4 formats of Worms 3D (Cube, Box, PS2 and PC). All 4 (internally produced) versions are now in production for the European release date of 31st October.
This release date is for Europe only, there is still no word when the game will be released in North/South America and Far East. This is due to it having a different distributor (Atari) and separate approval processes.

At this stage in our schedule, for consoles, no, not unless the publisher really needs it. Simply because it will take at least 6 months extra work - 3 months to implement everything (including specific console interfaces/system link-ups etc) and then at least an additional 3 months testing the online play.
We certainly never planned for GC online since it wasn't on the radar (rumours aside), PS2 was coming too late and XB live wasn't running when we designed the game (and also committed to a publisher schedule).
The PC version was obviously always planned to be online, but just doesn't have the same issues as console (i.e. we know the interface, we don't have hardware submission procedures with).

Ubi Soft Entertainment today announced that it has shipped the puzzle action game Worms Blast for Nintendo GameCube and PCs, to U.S. retail stores. Worms Blast features all of your favorite Worms characters and 14 gameplay modes to choose from as you use your water cannon to clear puzzles and collect special weapons to take out opponents. Worms Blast is rated "E" for everyone and has an MSRP of $39.99 for GameCube and $19.99 for PC.

Activision, Inc. announced today that the company has entered into an agreement with the U.K. - based developer, Team 17, to publish the highly anticipated title Worms 3 and an additional yet-to-be-announced Worms title. Under the terms of the agreement, Activision has acquired multi-platform worldwide publishing and distribution rights for the game, excluding PC rights in Korea, Taiwan and China.

The title is currently in development for release sometime in 2003 and the publishing rights are currently under negotiation with major global publishing entities. They expect to make a formal announcement during the summer. Team 17's forthcoming OnlineWorms game is already being hailed a phenomenal success in Korea, with over one million registered members having signed up at
www.onlineworms.com for beta testing duties. A pre-release version of the game has been available in Korea since Mid-December and with up to 25,000 new members signing up daily! Team 17 is now predicting 1,200,000 members by the end of February.
