The latest issue of Game Informer reveals some new information about Nintendo's Zelda franchise, some good, some bad. Now that The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii is available everywhere, sources have it that Nintendo has already been working on an all new title in the franchise, for almost a year, and could see the light of day sooner than expected. Less positive news is that The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has been delayed until October 2007, and has been greatly reworked since E3 2006.

Infinium Labs today provided an operations update stating that it is still working on the Phantom Game Service and is currently licensing technology to well-established manufacturers of PCs and digital home entertainment, although no mention of the actual console is made. The Phantom Lapboard, currently in a prototype state, is scheduled for October.

During his GDC keynote speech Nintendo President Satoru Iwata revealed that Nintendo is working on a new Zelda game for the NDS. While The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass details are still limited, the demo showed that the top screen will be used for the game, lower part as map, while the stylus is used for opening doors (by drawing an hourglass), and directing your boomerang shots. Returning are the puzzle-based dungeons and the Navi glow used for targeting.

In a Feb 13 filing with the SEC, Infinium Labs revealed several details about its rather poor financial state. In the filing, Infinium revealed it does not have enough cash and needs to raise $1.6 million in additional funds immediately, or assets may be foreclosed upon by secured lenders, or operations could completely cease. As a result, the Phantom Game Service has been put on hold to rush out its Phantom Lapboard. Infinium Labs is also moving at the end of the month, as they have been unable to pay rent on its office for several months and are being evicted.

Infinium Labs today announced that its president and chief operating officer, Kevin Bachus, will appear on G4 TV "Attack of the Show" to demonstrate the Phantom Game Service and Phantom Game Receiver. The show will air live on Monday, June 6th, at 4:00 p.m. PDT/7:00 p.m. EDT and will re-air at 9:00 p.m. PDT/midnight EDT, midnight PDT/3:00 a.m. EDT, and at 9:00 a.m. PDT/noon EDT on Tuesday, June 7.

Phantom Dust creator Yukio Futatsugi has commissioned the release of 34 new skills via the downloadable skill update 1.20 on Xbox Live. The new skills cover all the different skill schools and also include the mysterious 'Phantom Dust' skill which, while initially shrouded in mystery, promises to have a crazy, game altering effect. In addition to the new skills, Futatsugi and his team have made a ton of tweaks to existing skills, leveling out some of the more devastating and sometimes unfair skills and improving the homing ability of skills like 'Psycho Sniper'.
