'Unreal Tournament 2004' Announced

Atari is bringing Unreal Tournament 2004, the newest edition of the definitive virtual blood sport, to personal computers this Fall. Unreal Tournament 2004, like its predecessors, is being co-created by Epic Games Inc. and Digital Extremes. The game will be shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, May 14 - 16, in Petree Hall, room 4003.

Atari Introduces 'Magic: The Gathering - Battlegrounds' For (XB/PC)

Under license from Hasbro Consumer Products, Atari has announced plans to take one of the most popular trading card games ever created to the Xbox videogame system from Microsoft with the release of "Magic: The Gathering - Battlegrounds." A PC CD-ROM version of the game was also announced. Currently in development by Secret Level, "Magic: The Gathering - Battlegrounds" is filled with faithful translations of classic creatures, spells and enchantments from the premier trading card game in a visually stunning 3D game environment rife with real-time strategic fighting, devastating wizard arsenals and intense creature combat.

New Axis & Allies Experience Announced

Atari, Inc. and TimeGate Studios, Inc. announced today a partnership to develop a new PC installment of Axis & Allies, the popular World War II game franchise. Axis & Allies: RTS (working title) is inspired by the game of war, strategy and economics found in the best-selling Axis & Allies board game, but features unique elements that allow players to change the course of history in new ways. Axis & Allies: RTS is being developed for the PC by TimeGate Studios, creators of the award-winning Kohan series, and is scheduled for release in fall 2004 for the PC.

Mindscape today announced the release of Law and Order: Dead on the Money, a unique blend of field investigation and courtroom trial gameplay based on the award-winning TV series, due for PC on 6th June 2003. Law and Order has over 20 million worldwide viewers per episode and is currently being broadcast on Channel Five on Saturday nights within the UK. Filmed entirely on location in New York City, this realistic programme looks at crime and justice from a dual perspective. In the first half-hour, Detectives Lennie Briscoe and Edward Green investigate crimes and apprehend suspects under the supervision of their precinct lieutenant, Anita Van Buren. In the second half-hour, the focus shifts to the criminal courts. Executive Assistant District Attorney Jack McCoy and Assistant District Attorney Serena Southerlyn work within a complicated justice system to prosecute the accused.

Microsoft Game Studios today announced that Dungeon Siege II is currently in development and is slated for release in 2004. A trailer for Dungeon Siege II will be shown at E3, the annual video game convention taking place in Los Angeles from May 14 through 16. Visitors to the Microsoft booth (South Hall #1246) will be treated to a taste of the vision and direction of this upcoming title. Set in the year 2013, TRINITY transports players into a dark alternate future where a deadly plague threatens to destroy the city of New Orleans. As the mysterious "Nightstalker," a bio-technically enhanced one-man vigilante force, players will cut a swath of destruction through the Big Easy as they attempt to uncover the source of the deadly virus, and save the city from impending disaster. The PC version of the game is being created by Gray Matter Studios the development team behind Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The Xbox version is being developed by Vicarious Visions. 'Desert Thunder: 7th Cavalry Heavy Armored Division' Announced

Toronto-based Groove Games, a global publisher of interactive entertainment software, announced today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the signing of a game development deal with Brainbox Games.
