Featuring downloadable video interviews with Dennis Taylor and the chance to win an opportunity to play Stephen Hendry at his own game, Codemasters has launched a microsite to support the much anticipated PlayStation 2 title World Championship Snooker 2002 at the CODEMASTERS site

The online site features details on the game, in-game video files, and also includes a news feed detailing all the latest real-life snooker news, courtesy of 110sport.com.

World Championship Snooker 2002 is due out in mid September for PlayStation 2 and is the next generation of the market-leading snooker simulation.

World Championship Snooker 2002, Codemasters' best-selling snooker video game gets ready for an autumn break on PlayStation 2.

Codemasters' track record of turning even the most casual of sports into best selling video games is unsurpassed and is now preparing to turn the PlayStation 2 snooker loopy with a late September launch for the new edition of its genre-leading World Championship Snooker 2002.

The title debuted on PlayStation 1 last June and won acclaim from critics being called "leagues ahead of its rivals? commendable to the point of marvel" and "The finest snooker game ever? a masterpiece". It er competitions are catered for with a Tournament option with up to 16 players. There's also three novelty two player table top games, called Countdown, Time Bandits, and Bonus Ball.

World Championship Snooker 2002 also benefits from using an incredibly advanced physics system offering extreme accuracy in simulating a true 3D table; players can even bounce a ball off the table, or jump one ball over another. The system simulates all kinds of spin, and the gameplay is so realistic that it should help improve player's real-life snooker skills.

Presentation is TV realistic, ensuring that the whole playing experience is incredibly immersive and builds atmosphere. Developed by the same team responsible for the PSX and PC versions, Blade Interactive Studios, World Championship Snooker 2002 is scheduled to launch this September on PlayStation 2.
