Blizzard today unveiled the BlizzCon website, presenting many new details about its upcoming gaming convention. Set to take place on Oct. 28 and 29 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif., BlizzCon will celebrate Blizzard's games and the players who have made them so popular around the world. Live music band, Q&A session, tournaments etc..

"Blizzard has grown enormously in the past 14 years, but none of that growth would have been possible without our players," said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. "BlizzCon is the perfect opportunity for us to meet some of those players face to face and to celebrate the Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft universes together with them."

At BlizzCon, gamers will be able to attend numerous events, play Blizzard games live with other members of the gaming community, and try out StarCraft: Ghost(TM), Blizzard's highly anticipated tactical-action console title. Other BlizzCon activities will include:

  • Q&A panels with the World of Warcraft(R) and StarCraft: Ghost developers
  • BlizzCon Invitational Tournament featuring top Warcraft III and StarCraft professional gamers from around the world
  • A separate LAN area stocked with PCs loaded with Blizzard games
  • Contests in which die-hard gamers can compete for great prizes
  • Custom BlizzCon merchandise in the BlizzCon store
  • A special closing-night concert featuring a to-be-announced band
