* Important Note on Installation *

The installation autorun and the shortcut on Windows XP use Stardock's DesktopX Pro and the Windows Scripting Host support that comes with Windows to provide a custom interface for installing and launching the game.

Some anti-virus appplications (McAfee in particular, but they are by no means the only vendor), incorrectly label any application using scripts as malicious. This is NOT the case.

The gadgets are used to launch the install or game, link to the websites, and provide an interface for you to update your serial number in the registry.

Set your scanning program to ignore it, adjust the sensitivity of any script-scanning options, or change the shortcuts to run the application to GalCiv2.exe.

Getting Updates

Your best bet to get updated versions of Galactic Civilizations II is through Stardock Central (http://www.sdcentral.net). Visit http://www.galciv2.com for details on updates.

Standalone update installers will also be available from the website.

A Note on Campaign Missions

Winning a mission doesn't always mean killing every last potential enemy.

Focus on the mission objectives.
