Back in 2003, Universal Pictures obtained an option to the rights to develop Midway's classic 1980s Spy Hunter videogame into a motion picture, to be directed by John Woo starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, a project that was eventually scrapped due to budget reasons. Last year Warner Bros. acquired most of the assets from the bankrupt Midway, so now it hopes to revive the movie project and has tapped Chad St. John to write the script for a feature adaptation.
