When you start a new Adventure Box game your world will be cold, dark and overrun by monsters and enemies. Your key objectives are to rid the land of these monsters, level up your character and build a thriving empire.

As you level up, your settlement levels up as well. This is where our world creation tools come in to play as you will be able to place buildings and turn your settlement into a world dominating empire. Your Adventure Box world will also evolve depending on the moral choices your character makes. By using voxel graphics we are able to focus more on designing features and gameplay and less on the general aesthetic. This also makes it far easier for fans to mod the game and create their own characters, locations and adventures.

Adventure Box is unique as it is built in HTML 5 and is free to play in a web browser. So there is no need to install the game onto your PC or MAC. You simply go to our website, login and hey presto you are in your Adventure Box world. What’s more you are able to invite friends into your world to help you complete quests, collect loot and build your empire! We will also be looking into a paid app for mobile and tablet devices.

Happy Landlord is currently running a kickstarter campaign, looking to raise £75,000, to finish up development of Adventure Box.

If our Kickstarter is successful we will have enough funding to create deeply interactive worlds for players to explore with lots of items and loot. As we love character creation, world creation and storytelling we really want Adventure Box to capture the player’s imagination. The funds will also go towards paying salaries and buying the necessary equipment and licenses we need to complete the game.

There are lots of exclusive in-game items and merchandise for people who back our Kickstarter. Backers can get Kickstarter exclusive weapons to aid them on their quests when the game launches, as well as physical merchandise such as figurines and t-shirts. High level supporters will also be able to design elements of the game too.

The developers are running an open game engine demo at the moment which anyone can play. Once the page is loaded you are free to explore the world, giving you a great introduction to the beginning of the game and shows you what Happy Landlord are aiming to achieve in terms of atmosphere.
