'Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations' Expands With Command LIVE Expansion

by Rainier on July 19, 2016 @ 7:15 p.m. PDT

Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations puts the player in charge of air and naval operations in a period stretching from post-WW2 all the way to the modern day and even the near future at the tactical and operation scale.

Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations features a very realistic modeling of air and naval warfare strategy where players take command of modern military operations from post-WW2 all the way to the near future, primarily in a tactical or operational scale.

Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations aims to set a new benchmark for depth and realism in modern air and naval wargames, with detailed modeling of aircraft, surface ships, and submarines, along with multiple historic and hypothetical conflicts, complete with an integrated scenario editor.

Relive the brutal air struggle between Iran and Iraq. Wrestle the Falklands under your control. Hunt down rogue nukes in Pakistan. Go "Down Town" around Hanoi and spar with the deadly NV air defences. Lead nuclear-powered sharks of steel against the masters of antisubmarine ops. Trade volleys of fire in close-quarters gun duels, or obliterate the enemy with sophisticated, heavy-hitting hypersonic missiles from hundreds or thousands of miles away. Escort vital convoys to their destination, or make a last stand against all odds. When things escalate out of control, step up to unconventional or even nuclear weapons. Play the most dangerous game of hide and seek - at sea, on land and in the air. Command is the next generation of air/naval wargaming.

The Command LIVE project has officially taken off. The first release, Old Grudges Never Die, is out on our site and on Steam.

We are really proud of this first episode and of the project as a whole. Developers WarfareSim and Bart Gauvin, an experienced designer from the community, have worked hard to bring this project to life and this is only the start. It’s the first time a detailed simulation takes on real life events to create such detailed fictional, but true-to-life scenarios.

The first DLC to be released under this name is Old Grudges Never Die. Players take control of either Russian or Turkish forces in the attempt to maintain national honor and pride, while keeping a lid on hostilities to prevent the outbreak of larger conflict.

This scenario follows on from the real events of November 2015, when a Russian Su-24 was shot down by a Turkish F-16. The consequent geopolitical situation and the interests at stake, including the involvement of NATO, Syrian and rebel forces and ISIS, create a set of circumstances where every false move can end up in a bloodshed.

To better understand the historical landscape and the forces in play, the Command LIVE News Network has put a reporter on the ground and we just received their video report. The editorial team has also sent a report that we have published into the first issue of a newspaper that will be published alongside each Command LIVE scenario.

Command Live: Old Grudges Never Die is an expansion of Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations and requires the base game to be played
