by Rainier on Jan. 14, 2019 @ 8:40 a.m. PST

Enter mankind's greatest conflict with Battlefield V as the series goes back to its roots with a never-before-seen portrayal of World War 2.

Assemble your Company of customized soldiers, weapons, and vehicles – then take them on an epic journey through the Tides of War. Experience the most intense, immersive Battlefield yet. You will never be the same.

Featuring a fresh portrayal of one of mankind’s biggest conflicts, Battlefield V allows players to feel the unmatched intensity of all-out war and travel to unexpected but crucial moments of World War 2 through new and signature multiplayer modes, single-player War Stories and the cooperative Combined Arms. In Battlefield V, embark on a continuing, grand journey post-launch in the brand new Tides of War, created to make sure the battlefield is constantly evolving with new events, challenges, battles, and rewards that are always within reach – for all Battlefield V owners.

Battlefield V multiplayer will deliver the most immersive gameplay of the franchise in a sandbox environment that portrays the battles of World War 2, allowing players to feel the force of the fight and truly shape the war as the war shapes them. Players’ soldiers can now tow stationary weapons, build fortifications and repair war-torn structures to turn the battlefield to the player’s advantage. Whether dragging a squad mate to safety or shooting a grenade out of the sky, players will forge a deeper connection to the ever-evolving world around them and achieve victory against the toughest odds. With the freedom to adapt and evolve the battlefield in new and unseen ways, the battlefield will never be the same.

Battlefield V begins 2019 with a blast of new content in the Chapter 2: Lightning Strikes update, going live tomorrow, January 15.

Tides of War will let you continue your Battlefield V journey through seasonal events. As you take on its multi-week Chapters, you’ll experience new battlefields, challenges, modes, weapons, progression options, and more.

Hit the battlefield during the Tides of War Chapters – you don’t want to miss out everything the evolving battlefield has to offer. Everything you do during the Chapter earns you XP and works towards a unique Chapter rank. This rank resets for each new Chapter. For each Chapter rank-up, unlock rewards like weapons, visual customizations, Company Coin, and more.

As a reminder, all DLC and additional content that comes to Battlefield V is free to all players as part of Tides of War.

Kicking off tomorrow is Squad Conquest, a tighter and more intense version of Conquest that enables more tactical gameplay between two teams of 16 players on the Arras, Rotterdam and Hamada maps. Launching alongside Squad Conquest are four new weapons, which can be unlocked through Weekly Challenges:

A FEW GOOD SOLDIERS (January 17 – January 30)

Unlock Weekly Challenge rewards by mastering the intense 8-vs-8 matches of the new Squad Conquest mode. Act fast, it’s only available for a limited time.

Week 1 Reward: Zk-383 submachine gun (Medic class).
Week 2 Reward: Modele 1944 semi-automatic rifle (Assault cl
ass).

HOLD THE LINE (January 31 – February 13)

Learn to maintain control of your hard-earned objectives and play defensively in Breakthrough and Frontlines modes.

Week 3 Reward: Final Countdown headgear.
Week 4 Reward: M1922 MMG (Support class).

A new Grand Operation, called Battle of Hannut, will deploy in Chapter 2. Set in the French and Belgian countryside, players will give it their all in Airborne, Breakthrough, and – for the first time in a Grand Operation – Rush mode. Time to Death and Death Experience fixes have been updated following community feedback in those areas. Combined Arms, a co-op experience, will be launching with Chapter 2 in February. In the first Combined Arms endeavor, players will attempt a surgical strike on a single objective in eight missions. Players can also look forward to the return of Rush mode exclusively for a limited time in March. In Rush mode, the objective depends on whether you’re on the attacking or defending side. The mode will be available on the maps Twisted Steel, Narvik, and Devastation. Other content, like the Tank Hunter vehicles, will be added to Battlefield V in later updates throughout Lightning Strikes.

Work with your squad in a fast-paced, intense take on Conquest available for a limited time on the Rotterdam, Arras, and Hamada maps. In this 8-versus-8 mode, two pairs of opposing squads compete to capture and hold flags until one team runs out of respawn tickets. Defenders start with control of all the flags, but losing flag control means no more respawns – and if all players are wiped out, they’ll lose.

In new and classic multiplayer modes, players can lead their own unique Company to victory in a dynamic multiplayer experience where every battle is unique. The Company allows players to create and deeply customize their soldiers, weapons and vehicles that will evolve as they progress, covering everything from the way they look to the way they play. Fan favorite modes like the 64-player Conquest return, with the game’s multiplayer culminating in Grand Operations, an all-new live, event-based experience within Tides of War. These multimap, multi-mode dynamic events take players through vast historical battles to relive moments of bravery and desperation while fighting to the final objective.

The acclaimed single-player campaign mode from Battlefield 1, War Stories, returns for Battlefield V. Witness the conflict through the eyes of men and women of World War 2 and experience untold stories of human drama, filled with Battlefield moments. Experience the freezing Norwegian landscapes as a young Norwegian resistance fighter or come ashore into the desert heat of North Africa - and more.

Tides of War is DICE’s new approach to live services, where players will set out on an epic journey with their Company in unexpected battles throughout World War 2. There will be no premium pass, all players will have access to the same maps and modes, keeping the community unified as they progress through Battlefield V. In Tides of War, their journey through World War 2 will grow through themed experiences that will include events and all-new ways to play like Grand Operations, while also unlocking the latest themed rewards such as weapons and vehicles to further shape their Company.

Battlefield V is now available worldwide for Xbox One, PS4 and Origin for PC.
