You play as Edith, who tries to figure out why she is the last one in her family alive upon coming back to the house she grew up in. As you explore the house, you’ll find stories about each family member with its own unique gameplay and each ending with the death of that family membe.
Experience the life of various family members with stories plucked out of different periods of time. Each story offers a chance to experience the life of a different family member with stories ranging from the early 1900s to the present day. The only constants are that each is played from a first-person perspective and that each story ends with that family member's death. Ultimately, it's a game about what it feels like to be humbled and astonished by the vast and unknowable world around us.
If you have not had the pleasure of playing What Remains of Edith Finch yet, now's your chance.
The Epic Games Store will have What Remains of Edith Finch available for free starting January 10, 2019 until January 25, 2019.
It’s a game that touches on a lot of subjects: death, family, stories and what we leave behind, but more than anything it’s a game about the unknown, about exploring something with no idea of what you’re going to find. This makes the game a little hard to describe because the more I tell you about it, the less it’s going to surprise you.
What Remains of Edith Finch is now available on PS4, Xbox One and PC for $19.99.
