'Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville' (ALL) Reveals Romantic In-Game Festival, New Character - Trailer

by Rainier on Feb. 3, 2020 @ 10:35 a.m. PST

Plants vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville is the newest game in the PvZ franchise, where you blast zombies, plants and characters across an animated PvZ landscape.

Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville welcomes players to Neighborville, a suburban region where the clash between flora and undead is always flourishing. PopCap is launching the next title in the beloved Plants vs. Zombies™ franchise with a whole new way to play ahead of launch.

Featuring over-the-top action that fans of previous Plants vs. Zombies shooter titles have come to know and love, players can jump down into Giddy Park for light multiplayer battles or use the social board to interact with other players and group up. Players will unravel the threats of three free-roam regions, including the familiar central location of Neighborville Town Center, as well as adventuring through the outer edges of Neighborville in the hot and dusty Mount Steep, and the lush and strange Weirding Woods regions.

At the core of Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is the game’s emphasis on thrilling multiplayer gameplay. Players can battle it out with 20 fully customizable character classes, including returning favorites like Peashooter and Chomper, along with some fresh new faces such as Night Cap, a master of the shadows, and the funky disco queen Electric Slide. The character roster also includes a Team Play class for each faction, Oak and Acorn, and Space Cadet. Additionally, players can join forces and kick some grass in split screen couch co-op and online co-op across every mode, whether it is battling through flourishing free-roam regions or jumping into battle in six different multiplayer modes. The fun doesn't stop there as players can then partake in Festivals after the game’s October launch to unlock new seasonal rewards.

Roses are red, violets are blue, the zombies are giving your brain a chew. Celebrate Valenbrainz in style as you tour Giddy Park, decked out in lovey-dovey decor. You’ll play a new map and score a legendary upgrade. We’re also putting aside the entire month to get hyped for an enchanting new character coming in March – Wizard Zombie!

Get your plants ready for some much-needed rest and relaxation (and hardcore zombie battles) in our new Turf Takeover map, Preserve Pastures. Head on down to this idyllic farm setting for a little massage or seaweed body wrap, and defend the plants-only spa from some jealous, facial-fiending Gargantuars.

This month, we’re also launching brand-new legendary upgrades – a Legendary costume, paired with a themed upgrade that adds a new layer of strategy for your character. From February 3 – March 1, work your way through the Valenbrainz Prize Map to earn the Shogun-Guard upgrade and Foodal Lord Dracornius costume for Kernel Corn. After you earn both items, use them individually to change up your look and how you play. Or, combine them to unleash your legendary upgrade – a personal shield for battle! On March 2 the upgrade will be available for purchase in Rux’s Emporium.

In addition to Kernel Corn’s Foodal Lord Dracornius costume, which you can earn when you take a single path to complete the Prize Map, you’ll also score epic hats, Victory Slabs, Punchers, emojis, and more. Use Prize Bulbs to get through the map and pick up chase items as you go, like the Common Shaggy Shampooie costume for Chomper at the mid-way point and the Legendary Blade of the Beetle costume for Kernel Corn at 100% completion.

That’s the news for now, Neighborville! We hope you’re feeling all the love we’ve put into this Valenbrainz celebration. We also hope you’re just as excited as we are to fall under the spell of Wizard Zombie in March’s Luck o’ the Zombie Festival. Get him when you take a single path to the end of March’s Luck o’ the Zombie Prize Map! Or, unlock him in April when he’ll be available for 500K coins.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
