Seven months have passed since a deadly virus hit New York City and the rest of the world, crippling the population. When the virus hit, The Division, a unit of civilian sleeper agents, was activated as the last line of defense. Since then, Division agents have been fighting relentlessly to save what remains.
For The Division, the stakes are higher than ever. Washington, D.C. – the most heavily protected city on earth – is at risk, leaving the entire nation on the brink of collapse. If Washington, D.C., is lost, then the nation falls. As a Division agent who has been in the field for seven months, you and your team are the last hope to stop the fall of society after the pandemic collapse.
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is an online open world, action shooter RPG experience set in a collapsing and fractured Washington, D.C. This rich new setting combines a wide variety of beautiful, iconic, and realistic environments where the player will experience the series' trademark for authenticity in world building, rich RPG systems, and fast-paced action like never before. Play solo or co-op with a team of up to four players to complete a wide range of activities, from the main campaign and adversarial PvP matches to the Dark Zone – where anything can happen.
Ubisoft announced that “Operation Iron Horse,” the second eight-player raid in the Tom Clancy’s The Division franchise, goes live globally on June 30 at 9 am PT.
Operation Iron Horse is a free content update for owners of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 and the Warlords of New York expansion. In this raid, Division Agents will head to a foundry, where the True Sons are manufacturing weapons as they devise a plan to re-establish their grip over Washington D.C. For this challenge, teamwork and the ability of even the most experienced agents will be tested.
Players who have reached Level 40 after playing The Division 2 Warlords of New York expansion will be able to participate in the raid. Players who own The Division 2 base game can participate in the Level 30 version of Operation Iron Horse, which will be released July 7. Operation Iron Horse can be played in Normal and Discovery Difficulty modes. Discovery mode will come at a later date and will feature matchmaking for the raid.
Based on key learnings from the game’s first-ever eight-player raid, “Operation Dark Hours,” Operation Iron Horse is considered the ultimate challenge for Division 2 Agents, with new puzzles and mechanics, ensuring that teamwork will be the key to victory. Operation Iron Horse will feature thought-provoking battles against enemies and bosses, driving Agents to determine proper fight mechanics and work with their teammates to execute the right strategy in order to defeat their enemies. The raid will reward players with exclusive loot such as:
- Ravenous exotic double-barrel rifle
- Regulus exotic revolver
- Foundry Bulwark gear set
- Future Initiative gear set
- And other unique rewards
Race to World First Returns
In addition to the second eight-player raid, the Race to World First competition is back. The first team on each platform to complete Operation Iron Horse after it goes live will be forever immortalized in-game by having their team photo and names displayed in a portrait in the White House in The Division 2 for all players to see.
Alongside the return of Race to World First, Twitch Drops are also back, allowing fans to receive drops from selected Twitch partner streamers who are streaming the raid on their platform. Twitch Drops will be available June 30 at 8 am PT, and closes July 2 at 5 am PT.
In Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 Warlords of New York, Division Agents will go on the ultimate manhunt for Aaron Keener, a former Division Agent who has now gone rogue. Keener, along with his network of Rogue Agents, is now a major threat to the burgeoning rebirth of civilization. To track down Keener, Agents will roam the untamed living open world of Lower Manhattan; a former Dark Zone that was recently hit by a devastating hurricane that hit New York City harder than anywhere else in the US. Agents are tasked to explore new zones, each with iconic locations such as Two Bridges, Chinatown, and Wall Street. To get to Keener, players must take down each of his Rogue Agents. Each Rogue Agent has their own unique back story and skill – which you gain once you take them down.
After taking the time to hear and gather community feedback, core gameplay enhancements have been implemented across various topics such as build diversity, gear streamlining and even more meaningful loot.
Along with The Division 2 Warlords of New York, Title Update 8 will include an RPG overhaul, allowing players to better read and manage their gear inventory. The UI screen will be updated to always show the roll ranges for each stat on a piece of gear or weapon. The overhaul also includes the return of god rolls, improving readability and helping players make better decisions on the gear’s usefulness to their build. Additionally, players will see a more streamlined gear recalibration system, with item and stat usefulness indicators, as well as permanent attribute and stat storage at the recalibration station. This will allow Agents the flexibility to plan the perfect build.
The existing Dark Zones in The Division 2 are also being revitalized, returning to a simpler rogue mechanic. The focus is on rewarding player-to-player interaction, whether it's fighting against each other or helping a fellow Agent against a tough Rogue player.
In The Division 2 Warlords of New York, the players’ level cap will increase from Level 30 to Level 40, but it doesn’t stop there. The Division 2 Warlords of New York is also introducing an infinite progression system, the SHD level, and 4 new skills that can be used throughout the game. Owners of the expansion will also get access to new gear and new weapons.
Warlords of New York is a narrative-driven expansion for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 and available on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Ubisoft’s subscription service UPLAY+.
