At launch, the Early Access version of GetsuFumaDen features eight equally beautiful Ukiyo-e stages with numerous boss fights and is playable in 11 different languages. The Early Access bundle alsoincludes a port of the original Japanese Famicom game as a bonus, along with a digital artbook and original mini soundtrack.

In addition to hosting a community Discord server for user feedback, Konami is also encouraging players to stream and/or record their GetsuFumaDen gameplay, with the goal of further generating active discussion within the community. As such, Konami has created User Generated Content guidelines, globally applicable, for content creators to be able to enjoy sharing in-game footage without any concerns.

Avid retro fans may recall the original Getsu Fūma Den, released exclusively in Japan on Famicom systems in 1987. It is a 2D, side-scrolling action RPG, often praised for how it switches between 2D platforming and first-person, pseudo-3D style exploration.
