As the v 2.0: The Firestone Legacy update release (February 24, 2022) draws nearer, Gameforge will be unveiling the new character classes that will be available to players, beginning with the mystical Fox Mage!
Connect with nature and spirits and use their power to your advantage as the Fox Mage, a versatile class that excels at healing and damage over time.
Roles: Ranged DPS and Support
Weapon: Twin Branches
Class Zone: Snowing Blossom ParadiseThe daughters of the Floral Palace blend the borders of two worlds, with an outward appearance that is half-human, half-fox, owing to the mixed blood of the Firestone clan and spirit foxes that flows within them. As a result of their lineage and cultivating practices, their physical development is slowed to such an extent that most of them remain at a stage somewhere between adolescence and young adulthood. Yet while their appearance remains delicate and youthful, only a fool would underestimate their power.
Class Overview:
Fox Mages have a strong connection with nature; for their cultivation, they bury firestones in the ground and plant exotic seeds on top of them. The plants which sprout are highly imbued with soulforce, allowing the Fox Mages to increase their own soulforce and reinforce the barriers of the Floral Palace. Through diligent study of the plants’ cycle of growth and decay, they learn to understand the art of self-cultivation, enabling them to enhance their magical powers.
A versatile class in combat, the Fox Mage use Twin Branches that were watered with lifeblood as weapons, enhancing them with poisons distilled from flowers and grasses that drive their enemies insane and ultimately kill them. Alternatively, they can channel the power of growth and nature to heal their allies.
Class Lore:
Five hundred years ago in the Kingdom of Qingqiu, a rare purple spirit fox ingested the nectar of mystical flowers planted by the floral goddess Nüluo. This act bestowed a powerful blessing upon the fox, allowing it to form a close relationship with the surrounding flora. Nüluo saw promise in the fox, and gave it an eight-character mantra to help it enrich its understanding of the blessing. By dedicating itself to the mantra, it came to discover a set of spells and unleash its true power. For hundreds of years, the fox’s descendants handed these spells down, improving upon them generation after generation.
Four hundred years later, a descendant by the name of Jiangze was born into the spirit fox tribe, gifted beyond the talents of the others. While her skills were already impressive, Jiangze decided to go in search of the flower which bore the original nectar to further strengthen her tribe. Finding it deep in the mountains around Jiangdu, Jiangze consumed the flower and was granted blessed power.
Years passed and the tribe, which had gradually evolved a more human appearance, finally found a place to call home. They flourished there, continuing their studies and deepening their bond with nature. But when the great war broke out against the demons at the end of the last dynasty, Jiangze was forced to move the tribe away, and they were ultimately taken in by the Firestone clan. She married the leader of the clan, Jiang Zhenyan, fusing their tribes together, with both benefiting from the teachings of the other’s ancestral techniques. They established the Floral Palace and begat the first half-human, half-fox offspring, who were even more powerful than their ancestors.
The Fox Mage is one of two new character classes being introduced in Update 2.0.
