Earlier this year we revealed that Hazelight Studios had teamed with dj2 Entertainment (known for Sonic the Hedgehog, Tomb Raider Netflix anime series, Disco Elysium and Sleeping Dogs adaptations) to bring the videogame “It Takes Two” for film and television, which according to Variety has now apparently been now set up at Amazon for priority development.

While dj2 Entertainment is producer on the movie, Seven Bucks Productions has brought on Dwayne Johnson (rumored to also star in the movie), Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia to produce.

Writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller (known for Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2) are adapting the game for the screen and will serve as executive producers, while Hazelight Studios' Josef Fares and Oskar Wolontis will act as executive producers.

It Takes Two is available in retail and digital storefronts for PS4, Xbox One and PC (Origin/Steam) for $39.99. All players who purchase It Takes Two on either PS4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade to its next-gen counterpart for free on the same date.
