'Surviving the Aftermath' New Alliances Expansion And Radio Pack Coming To PC Later This Month - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on June 2, 2022 @ 8:21 a.m. PDT

Surviving the Aftermath is the next installment in the post-apocalyptic survival colony builder series.

In Surviving the Aftermath, players will build and manage a colony of survivors in the shadow of a world-ending event. Resources are scarce following the apocalypse, and survival requires mastery of complex systems to optimize production and colony management to ensure nothing is wasted. Players will construct buildings, manage colonists, adapt to natural disasters and more in an effort to restore civilization.

Surviving the Aftermath is more than a colony builder and enables players to go beyond the shelter to explore a dangerous world filled with unique biomes, hazards, bandits, and more. Recruit and send out teams of Specialists to gather resources and intelligence about the world around the colony. Players can see what their teams have discovered by utilizing a vast overworld map that adds layers of strategic gameplay not typically included in a colony builder.

Future updates to Surviving the Aftermath include diplomacy and combat options between colonies, expanded tech trees, endgame content and much more.

Paradox Interactive and Iceflake Studios announced New Alliances, the first expansion for Surviving the Aftermath, is coming for PC June 16, 2022 at 14.99 USD / 11.99 GBP/ 14.99 EUR.

New Alliances gives players the power to form a post-apocalyptic federation by uniting the societies in the Wasteland providing others with safety and resources.

With Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances, your actions now go beyond the confines of your settlement and can influence other societies in the Wasteland. New Alliances expands the World Map where beasts and bandits will react to your choices and can even take over strategic locations. Interacting with societies has become more impactful, allowing players to unite colonies under their banner. Uniting colonies requires players to maintain their reputation or risk creating more rivals to compete against. Specialists can go on covert missions and influence the world through sabotage, theft, espionage, and propaganda, but be mindful of the risks as failure will have devastating consequences.

New Alliances allows us to dive deeper into the Dynamic World Map and lets our players get creative with how they interact with other societies. This is a major milestone for Surviving the Aftermath that goes beyond the colony and adds more strategic depth to the Wasteland,” said Lasse Liljedahl, Game Director for Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances. “We are continuing to listen to our players and improve Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances’s gameplay with more features and expanding the game’s mechanics. Our community has been absolutely crucial to Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances’s ongoing development and New Alliances brings in features that players have been eagerly anticipating.”

Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances Key Features:

  • Stronger together: Meet varied societies and help them with their requests to earn their loyalty and improve your colony with more than 12 new buildings. Positive interactions with other societies increase your reputation. But fail to meet their expectations and you’ll see them join your new rival, who will gain more control over the Wasteland.
  • New enemies in a Dynamic World Map: Bandits and beasts scour the Wasteland, compelling you to protect your settlement and those of your allies. Groups of bandits terrorize survivors and take over key locations. Make sure to defend and support other societies by trading and constructing new buildings whenever possible. An expanded user interface allows you to manage every single step to the unification of the Wasteland.
  • Covert missions: Shaping a new world isn’t easy. While collaboration is key, leaders can influence societies in more subtle ways. Sabotage, theft, espionage, and even propaganda will become tools in your arsenal, and specialists’ skills will affect how likely they are to succeed in a mission. Be mindful of the consequences though: failure will decrease your reputation and give more control to your rival and may cause the societies you targeted to retaliate.

Launching at the same time is the Forgotten Tracks Radio Pack and will be available for a suggested retail price of 3.99 USD/ 2.89 GBP/ 3.99 EUR.

Since its launch last November, Iceflake has released three major free content updates that address player feedback and expanded gameplay. Custom games were added, allowing players to modify the World Map, colonies, specialists, and more. Iceflake also introduced scenarios, such as Eternal Winter, requiring players to think creatively about overcoming difficult challenges. Map Seeds can now be selected from the pre-game settings, allowing players to revisit the Wasteland from a previous game or recreate a past colony.

Key Features:

  • No Place Like Home - Build and manage a colony of survivors after a world-ending event. Construct more than 61 unique buildings to handle everything from resource collection and farming to exploration and security.
  • Surviving Earth - Explore a vast procedurally generated world featuring six different biomes filled with resources, wildlife, rival societies and more. Each environment has different conditions that affect your colony’s survival. Stay vigilant: Natural disasters, dangerous animals, and bandits will put your survivors to the test.
  • Survival is my Specialty - Recruit over 80 unique Specialists, each with their own skills and motivations, to manage your colony’s resources and production. Send them beyond the Gate on scientific missions, scavenger runs, and to fight bandits.
  • Expect the Unexpected - Life in the aftermath requires you to make moral choices. You may not be able to control everything in your colony, but how you respond to situations and emergent events will shape the character of your new civilization.
  • Reputation Management - Every decision can have dire consequences on your colony’s survival. Your reputation with other societies will affect your ability to trade and can even affect your relationship with their leaders. Colonists have a mind of their own and will react to your choices.
  • Defend the Gate - Fortify your gates and protect your colony from rampaging animals and deadly bandits. Enemies who breach the gate will pour into your colony, wreaking havoc on everything in their wake. Take command of your specialists and drive the invaders back.
  • Mods: Surviving the Aftermath players can bring their own visions to life using Paradox Mods.

Surviving the Aftermath is available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC (Epic Games Store, Steam) at $29.99 USD / £26.99 GBP / €29.99 EUR.
