'Lords Of The Fallen' Technical Showcase Flexes Its Unreal Engine 5 Muscle, Shows Off Features - Trailer

by Rainier on March 22, 2023 @ 1:41 p.m. PDT

Lords Of The Fallen is an action RPG set within a medieval fantasy world ruled by a Fallen God where you will fight against the formidable Lords and Generals that command his demonic army.

Taking place more than a thousand years after the events of the first game, Lords Of The Fallen introduces an all-new adventure in a vast, interconnected world, more than five times larger than the original game. As one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, embark on an epic quest to overthrow Adyr, the demon God.

An expansive RPG experience - filled with NPC quests, compelling characters, and rich narrative - players will need to create their own hero before tackling the immersive single player campaign. They will also have the option to invite a second player to join their adventure in uninterrupted online co-op - a new feature for the franchise.

After an age of the cruelest tyranny, the demon God, Adyr, was finally defeated. But Gods… do not fall forever. Now, aeons later, Adyr’s resurrection draws nigh. As one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, journey through both the realms of the living and the dead in this expansive RPG experience, featuring colossal boss battles, fast challenging combat, thrilling character encounters, and deep, immersive storytelling. Will your legend be one of light… or one of darkness?

Dare to Hope.

Developer HEXWORKS (a CI Games studio) revealed a technical showcase for Lords of the Fallen at GDC 2023 as part of Epic’s State of Unreal keynote.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the reboot will launch for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S this year and is available to wishlist on all platforms now.

Lords of the Fallen’s technical showcase unveiled the journey to Skyrest Bridge, one of the game’s early locations, demonstrating some of the impressive ways Unreal Engine 5’s state-of-the-art technologies have helped HEXWORKS deliver on the ambitious vision for the upcoming action-RPG.

Spectators saw impressive character customisation and adaptable armour, the Lumen Global Illumination lighting, and finally, the vast interconnectedworld where players will have the ability to travel between two worlds: Axiom, the realm of the living and Umbral, the realm of the dead. The two worlds will allow players to effortlessly swap between them, even if one side is unmistakably more horrific than the other…
