'Synapse' Gets PSVR 2 Release Date, Reveals David Hayter And Jennifer Hale As Voice Actors - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on May 24, 2023 @ 7:40 p.m. PDT

Buckle up for visceral, stylish, and transformative gameplay as Synapse brings players a level of immersion not yet seen on the hardware.

Years in the making, Synapse’s transformative gameplay combines brutal firepower and surging telekinetic powers to deliver a level of immersion and connection not yet seen on the hardware.

In Synapse, players take on the role of a highly trained operative tasked with breaking into the Colonel’s mind to extract crucial intel that will put an end to his plans for mass destruction.

Synapse places players in a beautifully abstract world withdual-wielding combat that evolves Fracked’s run and gun gameplay, putting expressive 1:1 telekinesis in one hand and deadly, tactile weaponry in the other. Players harness this lethal combination as they master their own combat style to fight their way through a hostile mindscape.

nDreams have tailored the wielding of telekinesis to feel instinctive and expressive, giving players new ways to take down enemies and progress through levels. A key element in this is eye-tracking enhanced aiming which equips players with pinpoint precision when targeting their telekinesis and combines with motion controls to make wielding telekinetic powers a full-body experience.

Synapse is designed to take full advantage of PlayStation VR2’s boundary pushing hardwar with adrenaline fuelled gunplay that that players can feel through the PlayStationVR2’s Sense controllers’ haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

In a new trailer unveiled today, players get a fresh look at the game’s dual-wielding gameplay alongside a first glimpse of the game’s intriguing narrative that places them inside the twisted mind of a villain during a high-stakes mission to prevent a catastrophic attack.

nDreams are delighted to reveal the illustrious voice acting cast that will feature in Synapse.

David Hayter (voice of Snake from Metal Gear Solid and acclaimed screenwriter of X-Men and Watchmen) plays Colonel Peter Conrad, a once respected black ops leader who has since gone rogue and become a notorious enemy of the state. His increasingly deranged thinking has led to him threatening to unleash Armageddon. Hayter teams up once again with nDreams, having voiced General Zhurov in the studio’s 2020 award-winning Phantom: Covert Ops.

“When nDreams first approached me about playing the character of Colonel Conrad, I was immediately intrigued,” said David Hayter. “I was impressed with the complexity of his character, the unique nature of the gameplay and I have had an absolute blast bringing Conrad to life. It’s been fantastic to work with the team at nDreams again and of course, to have the privilege of going voice-to-voice with the legendary Jennifer Hale.”

Jennifer Hale (voice acting credits include Commander Shepherd in Mass Effect and Rivet in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart) plays Handler Clara Sorensen, a director of the ultra-secretive Bureau V. Sorensen is the player’s sole link to the outside world from within the Colonel’s mind and acts as a guide through his warped subconscious. Hale is reunited with her co-star Hayter, having played the role of Naomi Hunter alongside him in Metal Gear Solid.

“Working on Synapse has been a really great experience,” said Jennifer Hale. “The team at nDreams have done an incredible job with the game and it’s immensely satisfying knowing I’ll be helping Synapse’s players to take David down.”
