'Cronos: The New Dawn' To Get Lazarus DLC In December, Adds Prequel Story, New Abilities, Weapon And More - Trailer

by Rainier on Oct. 28, 2026 @ 5:05 p.m. PDT

Cronos: The New Dawn is a sci-fi survival horror game with a twisted time travel story set in an unforgiving post-apocalyptic future in 1980s Poland.

Cronos: The New Dawn is Bloober Team’s first original IP in the survival horror genre, marking a significant step forward for the Polish studios’ evolution as the masters of horror, known most recently for the acclaimed Silent Hill 2 remake.

Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.

In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking.

Cronos: Lazarus returns to the dark sci-fi horror universe of Cronos: The New Dawn, expanding on the story introduced in last year’s original.

Set before the original game, the DLC explores Pathfinder’s past and reveals new details about the Collective and the consequences of defying its authority.

To survive, players will wield new abilities, including teleportation for rapid repositioning and a decoy that distracts enemies while briefly rendering the Pathfinder invisible.

The expansion also introduces the Gladius, a faster, deadlier weapon than the original game’s dagger.

Key Features:

  • Discover the Warden’s origins: Uncover the Pathfinder’s journey toward becoming the Warden.
  • Fight on your own terms: Experience faster, more aggressive combat that rewards quick thinking and tactical play.
  • Master new abilities and weapons: Use teleportation, decoys, and the deadly Gladius to overcome your enemies.
  • Escape the Tracker: Survive the relentless pursuit of a new enemy deployed by the Collective.
  • Uncover the Collective’s secrets: Embark on a dangerous mission that reveals a darker side of the Cronos universe.
Cronos: Lazarus launches on December 3, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, priced at $9.99. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned for Q1 2027.

For those who haven’t played Cronos: The New Dawn yet, now is the perfect time to jump in, as the game will be available at 50% off during the Halloween season on Steam, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and the Nintendo eShop. Discount dates and duration may vary by platform.

You are a Traveler acting as an agent for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of specific time rifts that will transport you back to 1980s-era Poland.

Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.

In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategize and plan ahead. The enemies you’ll encounter are nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity – defeating them will require you to make full use of your arsenal. During battle, quick decisions can mean the difference between life and death.

Cronos: The New Dawn is available for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam / Epic Games).
