Doom has come to Birmingham, and you are the last soul alive!
As the lone survivor in a city overrun by the dead, you’ll rely on your wits, your fists, and whatever you can arm yourself with to endure the nightmare.
Explore a painstakingly recreated medieval town where danger lurks around every corner — not just from the undead, but from hunger, thirst, exhaustion, and even trip hazards. Grapple with gritty, real-world physics in a world where every step could be your last.
Outsmart the horde for as long as you can, or become their next meal.
Publisher Kakao Games and developer Ocean Drive Studio are excited to announce that God Save Birmingham's public Beta playtest #2 will begin on 2 November and run until 9 November.
Following months of closed playtests, Beta 2 is the second chance for most players to try God Save Birmingham since the beta test that took place this past June. Any of the returning 67,000+ players who checked out God Save Birmingham during Beta 1 will notice a considerable number of changes to the game.
During Beta 2, players can attempt to survive the harsh medieval setting with their friends in an alpha build of co-op; a save feature has been added, giving players some extra security while they try to fend off zombies; and there are also plenty of general gameplay upgrades, like more ways to cook, additional items to craft, and new weapons to wield.
In addition to new features, Ocean Drive Studio has made numerous tweaks based on player feedback: zombie aggression and general behaviour is now more varied based on the zombie type, clothing provides different levels of warmth for the player depending on the material, and more types of doors and windows can be barricaded or latched.
Anyone who would like to jump into the playtest just has to go to the God Save Birmingham Steam page from next Monday and click the “Request Access” button that will be there. They’ll then be granted instant access and get to experience a taste of zombie-filled, Middle Ages England.
The God Save Birmingham public beta test begins 2 November at 3:00 pm PT / 6:00 pm ET / 11:00 pm GMT and concludes 9 November at 10:00 am PT / 1:00 pm ET / 6:00 pm GMT.
Key Features:
- THE END HAS COME: A strange plague sweeps the countryside, transforming men into monsters, and cities into slaughterhouses. You are one of the last survivors of Birmingham, alone against the shambling corpses of your former friends and neighbors, with only your wits to protect you.
- NOURISH THY BODY: Even after the end of the world, life goes on. Forage for supplies, craft tools and weapons, then set out on the hunt for food, water, and shelter. The clock is always ticking, and the horde is always near.
- MASTER MEDIEVAL PHYSICS: Wriggle your way out of harrowing situations with physics-based mechanics that reward quick wits and skill. Stack furniture to barricade doors, leap low fences to trip your clumsy foes, and sever limbs to reduce the undead to angry, wriggling torsos. Just be careful not to stumble over a bucket while fleeing for your life.
- TAKE A BITE OUT OF HISTORY: Explore a carefully reconstructed 14th century Birmingham, in all its bucolic, bubonic glory. Stop by the Markets or the Burgage Plots to forage for resources. Raid boarded-up smithies for tools, grab a drink at the nearest tavern, and explore historic architecture at the Church of St. Martin in the Bull Ring.
God Save Birmingham is in development for PC (Steam).
